Just a recap from last week: Our aim is to post six approved stories every two weeks. Each one of these stories will be in a different category: Action/Adventure, Drama, Romance, Comedy, Slice of Life, and Human. This way, we ought to have something for everyone.
If you would like to submit a story to us, here are some links you’ll probably find useful:

-Submit Your Story!
-The Royal Guard's Official Handbook
Finally—and I cannot emphasize this enough—we are always recruiting. If you think you’ve got what it takes to be a prereader, then don’t hesitate to send us an application. If you have any questions about the application process, please direct them to Prak.
AND NOW, WITHOUT FURTHER ADO... STORIES!
This Week:
Action/Adventure
Three Solos, One Cadence, by Inquisitor M
Drama
Sweet Nothings, by Golden Tassel
Romance
Court Musician, by Pascoite
Comedy
Hello, My Name Is, by LoyalLiar
Slice of Life
Pipsqueak the Valiant’s Adventure Journal!, by Casca
ACTION/ADVENTURE
Cadance, Discord, and Fluttershy walk into a blizzard, but it's no laughing matter: there's something out there, buried beneath centuries of ice. But it's going to take teamwork to find it, and it's neither the Princess of Love nor the Lord of Chaos that are holding all the cards.
What's more, somepony predicted everything that is about to happen, and it turns out that history has an unexpected cadence.
PR Recommendation: “Cadance, Discord, and Fluttershy make for an odd trio. The quest they find themselves on here makes great use of their vastly different personalities, and not just as window dressing. This story is as much an examination of the characters as it is an adventure, and it excels in both respects.” —BlazzingInferno
DRAMA
The harmony of Equestria is no more. Only a harsh wasteland remains, with all memory of the old world and how it fell lost to history. In this post-apocalyptic land, only small pockets of civilization remain.
This is the story of Lucky Day, a young pegasus who finds himself wandering aimlessly in the wake of a tragic and traumatic event that shattered the stability of his former life.
PR Recommendation: “What a wild ride this was! At any point in the fic, if you think you know the direction it's going to take next, the fic's next move will be to prove you wrong. There's a brilliant and diverse cast of characters to go with the plotline, and healthy heapings of despair and hope all over the place. Basically, please read this (though do give yourself a nice allotment of time to do so: you might not want to stop once you've started).” —R5h
ROMANCE
Celestia's personal assistant, Pinwheel, wishes she could find a way to get the Princess to relax at the end of a stressful day. She's even found the perfect pony to help. Help Celestia, that is. Because it doesn't seem to help Pinwheel at all.
PR Recommendation: “Pop quiz: What's worse than falling head-over-hooves for a mare who's miles out of your—or anyone's—league? If you're Pinwheel, personal assistant to Celestia, the answer is ‘accidentally hooking her up with someone else’, or so it would seem... but sometimes, making sense of the emotional landscape around yourself can be harder than deciphering a dead language.” —R5h
COMEDY
Limited Liability is a changeling with a very routine life. He works at a bank. He lives with a marefriend. He goes through every day making sure he isn't discovered.
At least, that is, until the day that the hive has planned to invade Canterlot. On that day, his love runs out, and his disguise fails. Trapped in public with a chitinous body for all of Equestria to see, Liability has to find a way not only to survive, but to avoid ruining an invasion years in the making. Along the way, he learns a very interesting lesson about the ponies around him.
PR Recommendation: “There are a lot of comedies that aren’t much more than a story with some funny stuff in it, which makes it an absolute joy to stumble on a story such as this. This comedy knows it’s a comedy and delivers consistently on every level – a whole new angle from which to laugh at the changeling invasion of Canterlot.” —Inquisitor M
SLICE OF LIFE
Pirates, swordfighting, buried treasure and hidden treachery - you don't need these to live the adventurous life.
PR Recommendation: “Writing in a child’s voice is an exercise unto itself, and yet Casca makes it look easy. The times and trials of Pipsqueak, from the mundane to the life-altering, are as easy to read as they are interesting, and paint a picture of a complicated world as seen through a child’s eyes. Such a thing is no easy task. Anyone who’s thinking about writing from a younger pony’s perspective should give this a read first, as should everyone else. You’ll be glad you did.” —BlazzingInferno
HUMAN
As an immortal, Sonata never thought she might someday run out of time. But a supernatural encounter on a quiet back road will show her just how precious a mortal's life is.
PR Recommendation: “This story has a hint of American Gods to it - divine beings being inhuman and all too human at the same time, blurred lines dividing the supernatural from the mundane, and the arbitrary absurdity of life as Sonata Dusk is beckoned by Death to his hearse after eating some bad tacos from Taco Shack. This story is short and a bit strange, and doesn't have any profound statements to make, but was certainly an interesting read, especially if you like stories with an urban fantasy feel, something seldom seen in MLP fanfics.” —Titanium Dragon
Addendums
If you guys have any questions about our sitepost policies, or our new approval guidelines, feel free to browse the handy dandy Official Royal Guard Handbook, and if you still find yourself lacking answers, feel free to ask Prak so that he can find the right person to give you what you need.
See you guys next time!
I hope you folks enjoy these!
Dat pun doh.
I'm glad these are back, and I think the new format is a big improvement--keeps things short and sweet. Keep up the good work, guys.
If you don't name the next one "Fics It Felix", I'm going to... do things.
Like... I dunno, Laundry, maybe. And grocery shopping. Might mop the kitchen, too.
This fandom officially stopped trying. I swear, one of these days I'm going to write a story where Derpy chokes to death on a muffin in front of her kids. Or would that still count as jumping on the bandwagon?

Hey, it worked for Monty Python.
Also, all is not as it seems.
