So, working on the next chapter of Worst Nightmare of My Life, and we finally will be looking at the twins, and their introduction (probably brief to start) into thestral society. I won't make any promises as for a date, however, even though I'm writing near daily now. Work is probably going to interfere for a few days, and then I need to wrap up school before going into a two week break from it.
However, as the blog title states, as part of the story I'm building a thestral society. We've never really seen anything beyond them being Luna's guard, so it leaves a ton of room to play around with. Where did they originate? Where have they been all this time? How are they like? A whole slew of questions come to mind when trying to do this. Not to mention, if Thestrals are the 'Night' equivalent of a pegasus, then what about the equivalents of Earth Ponies and Unicorns? Do they exist? Don't they?
So, hopefully sometime soon, you'll be getting the first glimpse into this rather seclusive group, from my own interpretation of it. They're not the focal point of the story, but it's important enough that we'll be seeing them from time to time as Tempest goes about being mistrusted and abused, no doubt, in Ponyville. Or wherever the plot may take her. I honestly have no line, just points to hit upon before reaching the end. Which I will eventually get to, as the urge to write is continuing to increase.
Stay tuned, ask any questions you might have, and look forward to what will probably be between 3,000 - 4,000 words once it's finished (1st segment is complete at roughly 1,400 words right now.)

4342303 Not that I'm aware of. You'll see a basic view of where they are and some of them in this upcoming chapter, but nothing quite so... stereotypical. Also taking some liberties in things too.
Ever since someone pointed out that a "Thestral" is an emaciated-looking (almost demonic-looking), potentially death-aspected, carnivorous, and possibly quite dangerous-unless-domesticated bat-winged horse-like creature from Harry Potter, I've not really liked the name. It... just doesn't mesh well in my head with how bat-winged ponies have been portrayed in MLP.
Maybe as a legend/god for the bat-ponies - which would be a neat twist, now that I think of it - but the bat-ponies themselves? Meh...
4342421 I honestly was using the term before recalling the whole Harry Potter but, although, one of those aspects will fit in with the society I am building. But, I do believe we have had this conversation before, lol. What program are you using for chatting these days? Still on Skype at all, or are you mostly on Discord?
