The why and how of it. · 2:54pm Apr 10th, 2017
So, some of you may have noticed I went and dumped all seven chapters I had in my backlog all at once.
Strange? Yes. Insanity? Perhaps. Vegan? Probably not.
But all things are done with reason, even if they may at first appear nonsensical or outright random. Problem is I got knocked back on my first pass at getting the story published. Reason is, you see, there just wasn't enough pony.
Now some may say there is never enough pony, or that the pony is always gone, and in the first instance you would be correct, but then you would end up with the dilemma that I faced. My story isn't exactly fast paced, and as it turned out, there was just not enough MLP for the Mods to give the story the green light after the first two chapters.
I take this as a sign of really good due diligence on behalf of the community here, and the guys who run things really caring about the content that is shown on this site. But what really impressed was the lengths that they go to in order to help you out if you ask for it. They were able to explain to me where I was going wrong, and point out paths to correct my mistakes with the way I initially presented the story.
They could of just denied me publication on the site, not sited any real reason, and left me dumbfounded and confused as to what I did wrong and how to fix it. This would have eventually led me to dismissing the project and walking away.
This does have some carry over effects however, as now I have no backlog and things are starting to get busy, and holidays are right around the corner, so that means family, and no time for writing. So updates will be a little slower than first expected, but if I string them out just a little, I am fairly confident that I can get back on track and update more frequently.
Fingers crossed :)
