Dear Journal,
I arrived at the Hydra Marshes, but saw no sign of the creature. Having exhausted all other options, I called out for him! Somehow, that worked!
Let’s just say I’m glad I had the Spear of Courage with me! This hydra, who introduced himself as the Marquis, was the size of a several story building and didn’t seem to be too happy to have company! I explained my case as best I could, and even knew Ember’s father! Sadly, he still didn’t want to help, as doing so would benefit the ponies of the Vile Tribe. Ponykind apparently enslaved and killed many hydra in the past before banishing him to Tartarus for rising up against them. Truth be told, I can kinda see his point. If ponies had killed a bunch of humans, I don’t think I’d be too interested in helping them either.
He told me he would help, but only if I bested him in combat! I agreed! Admittedly, not my best idea. The Marquis… um… let’s just say I’m going to be sore for a while. Using the power from Ember’s Spear of Courage I was able to best the Marquis. As agreed he gave me the hydra in addition to some hydra scales with which to craft some new armor. We parted as friends and I rushed back to the hideout!
I just hope I’m not too late!
