Journal Entry - Volume 3 - Chapter 1 · 10:33am May 27th, 2019

Dear Journal,

I’m finally home! Home… that word keeps making me smile, as Equestria really is my home now! I… uh… never really had a home before. Not like this anyways! A place to go back to with those I care about. I mean… I did have that back on Earth! Loved ones, I mean! But… sorry, I’m not making any sense, am I? I should probably move this along.

Ember and I returned to Ponyville a day or so later than the others. We quickly made our way to Derpy’s house. Upon entering Derpy met up happily! I guess while I was gone, Twilight and her friends must have helped her through the tough times. She was like a… normal mare, I guess. There was still the hurt of her past behind her eyes, but… I got the feeling she could live with her past now!

I gave Derpy a hug and she suggested I take Ember to my room. Before I could do that… there was someone I… I really wanted to see first. Derpy understood and stepped aside. Walking into the living room, I saw the small bassinet and the tiny filly I had delivered so long ago! While I can’t be sure, I think she remembered me! She wasn’t afraid of me at all!

After holding her for a bit, I finally took Ember to my small room. With both of us in there, it certainly felt even smaller! But I don’t think Ember will mind the close quarters. A few minutes later, Derpy entered with my old satchel containing the items I used to deliver Dinky. Rummaging around in it I found the bloodstained foal delivering book! Mortified, I decided to return it to Twilight and pay for a new copy! She… almost acts like books are alive and have feelings sometimes!

Ember and I returned the book before going our separate ways. She returned home to rest, while I went to the Blacksmith’s Shop. Upon entering, I pulled my helmet out of the satchel and put it on the counter for the Hammers to examine. Apparently, hydra armor is unheard of here! Make sense, as they’re “extinct”!

When I thanked them for… doing their part during the battle, strange looks crossed their faces. I guess I was the first to learn their secret. While I won’t tell anyone, I still feel bad for… never mind. The rest of that conversation won’t be repeated. Not even to you journal.

Keep your friend’s secrets. They’re secrets for a reason!
