Journal Entry - Volume 3 - Chapter 17 · 8:59pm Jun 9th, 2019
Dear Journal,
Derpy, Dinky, Ember, Applejack and I went to Ponyville Hospital to pick up Cherry and Ruby. Doctor Horse says she's fit to return home as long as she takes it easy! Boarding the train, we headed for Dodge Junction! As we got underway Applejack gave me a book from Twilight. It's a book on beginner's magic! Well... I guess I have to start somewhere!
Using the time, I read the book and learned a few spells such as light and telekinesis. We arrived and slowly but surely walked Cherry and Ruby home. It took almost twice as long as it should have, what with most of the town coming out to congratulate her on the recovery! Cherry almost made it home under her own power. She faltered with the house in sight, so I carried her the rest of the way.
The sisters invited us to stay for a bit of hospitality. Not having anything else planned for the day, we accepted. The townsponies brought her food and me a bunch of bits! By taking down Buffalo Bull, I had solved quite a few of their writs! We sat there on the porch just talking and enjoying the breeze after that. Eventually the sun set in the most glorious color pallet you've ever seen!
Cherry asked if we wanted to spend the night, and again we accepted. Ruby helped her sister to bed shortly thereafter. Applejack, Derpy and I sat on the porch and talked about the strange energy coming from Dinky and Apple Bloom. Sadly, we couldn't really make any headway on that matter. Derpy, Dinky and Applejack retired to the guest rooms upstairs while I sat on the couch in the living room to think in front of the fireplace alone.
Some time later Cherry quietly descended the stairs and joined me. I guess I'd made a bigger impression on her than I thought! She... she wanted to know if I wanted to be her boyfriend! I mean... she's really nice and all, pretty too! But... I just don't know. There's already a lot on my plate! But... her request did make me think. At some point I need to think about my future. A girlfriend... a... a wife even! It doesn't look like I'll ever see Earth again, so... so I should probably view my current living situation as permanent.
If someone shows interest in you, be honest with them one way or the other. Never string them along by their emotions!
