A Bizarre Idea... · 11:44pm Jan 15th, 2021

Well, after feeling a little depressed (as stated in my previous blog), I tried thinking of some idea and this thought occurred to me for perhaps a future story. I figured I might mention it and see what you all think.

This idea is a 2nd person story where the reader takes on the role of an earth pony mare. At first she is a charlatan, pretending to be a paranormal investigator (after all ghosts and spirits aren't real... right?), however something happens and she ends up not only nearly dying from one of her cases but slowly begins to become an actual paranormal investigator with the help of a strange spectral creature that starts to accompany her. Due to the creature saving her life, the reader character ends up with a slightly monstrous mutation (making her/the reader kind of a monster mare in the process).

As the reader starts solving actual cases involving cryptids, eldritch monsters and even undead, the relationship between the reader character and the strange entity that saved her grows stronger (both "spiritually" and romantically:ajsmug:).

I'm also considering having the reader character starting off with a need for glasses (can't see a bloody thing without them).

Just a fun little idea, tell me what you think.

Please tell me what you think, I could use some encouragement right now. :unsuresweetie:

I'm sorry to hear about your employment situation, and I hope it resolves itself without too much issue for you.

But, as for this idea, I can safely say I've never read or seen, (be it comic, film or show) anything even remotely like it. I would definitely read it, and you picked a good time to get into the paranormal scene, what with the explosion of the game Phasmophobia only a little while ago. I don't usually feel right reading a female POV, for obvious reasons as a male, :rainbowlaugh: but this idea is too unique to let that stop me from giving it a read if you go through with it. (And hey, I am blind as bat past 2 feet without my second pair of eyes, so reading how you interpret that would be interesting)

5436769 Well, I certainly hope that I do a good job with the story then.

Sounds like a cool story idea.

Let us know if we can help your employment situation in any way.

5437049 Thank you, I'm glad you both like it.

As for my employment situation, there isn't really much that can be done aside from me trying to find another job (which I will be doing in the upcoming weeks).

I think this is a fun idea. The ‘oh wait this is real’ sounds like it’d be a blast.

Second-person stories sometimes break the illusion because what “I” do isn’t always what I would do. Like I read one story where “I” ran outside in the dark to check something out but I personally keep a flashlight in my desk and it made me smile but took me out of the story.

5438575 I'm glad you like it.

Yeah, I know not everyone is fond of the who 2nd person perspective, but I really like writing it. Not too sure why, just do.

Don't worry, you'll have a flashlight... :ajsmug:
