No way of knowing, where we'll be going, our adventures never end.

E

Minty purchases a stereo. Then she discovers that in the week since she ordered her brand new stereo, she's already been left behind by newer forms of technology. Everypony has a phone. And a tablet. Unfortunately, all of these new gadgets & gizmos have a bad habit of self-destructing in her presence. Unable to comprehend the changes going on around her, she seeks council from her friends and even the princesses.

What she discovers goes far beyond anything she could have imagined. Sometimes the line between right & wrong is blurred. And sometimes doing what's right means knowing most ponies will never forgive you. Oh well, she's used to not being forgiven. She's Minty, isn't she?

Please note that while tagged a comedy, chapter 2 changes tone to courtroom drama (with a little humor on the side).

Why disable the ratings? The story isn't on the level of horrible. I like it.

Thank you! It's just a quirk of mine - I don't like the idea of ratings in general. I know that means some people hit the back button as soon as they see 'ratings disabled', but I like to think those who go through with it get something better than they were expecting.

her inevitable defeat and the oblivion that would follow.

An afterlife is hardly the most unlikely thing in Equestria.

For Sunset there's the reality that she and the others were basically chosen as Earth's magical protectors whether they like it or not.

Never said it was. But with no canon religion for the ponies that I'm aware of, I felt it best not to tread into the territory of either creating one, or adapting one of fanon ones to fit the bill. I mean they use hell Tartarus as a maximum security prison... Had I instead used whatever the afterlife had waiting for her, it would beat this it would make it seem as if she weren't sure of her own religion.

In theory, the way Hasbro recycles names and personalities from generation to generation could be viewed as reincarnation.

Minty's thought there was simply meant to show how well and truly broken she was at that point. Whatever religion she believes in, she's forsaken it at that moment because she doesn't feel worthy. She thinks she's a bad pony. She doesn't think she's worth saving. She wasn't even willing to put up more than a token resistance to the intrusion, instead welcoming the embrace of death. Fortunately for her, that isn't what happened.

Religion and politics are the two topics I try to avoid in my writing, and that goes for casual discussions as well. Please note that the characters aren't necessarily atheists (nor am I). They're just topics that don't come up, so they don't talk about them (and they're topics I avoid, so I also don't talk about them). It's less controversial that way, and that's the way I like it.

“Yup! Technology waits for nopony, Minty!” Flitter picked up one of the records and giggled. “Records are so passé they’re already making an ironic retro comeback!”

I'm giggling at this madness.

Gonk, meanwhile, had picked up a hammer from his workbench. As Minty approached, he swung it at her. When recounting the story later, Minty would say she ducked to dodge the swing. In reality, she just happened to trip at an opportune time. The hammer instead struck Glouda, knocking her off Minty’s back once and for all.

Poor Minty. At least this worked out for her.

“Yay! Recess!” Minty and Pinkie Pie rushed outside to roll around in the grass.

:rainbowlaugh:

Thank you for an emotional recess as well.
