We've all had this question since Twilight became a princess. Why doesn't she have any guards. It would seem like a smart idea to have them around, even if they're just there to look pretty. Well, Sunset's gonna be the audience stand in for us today.
To be fair, I'm not really sure why Celestia and Luna have guards either.

My guess would be image.
If you think of it as royalty and royal guards instead of alicorn and pony guards, it makes a little more sense.
Oh, this was adorable. Gold star.
Short and sweet, and it does absolutely make sense. A sentient building can be capable of protecting itself just fine.
Twilight suspect Chrysalis is the reason she got lost and can't think it could be a prank from Discord?
When did Sunset become royalty?
It makes sense that Sunset would ask this, because she didn't see the Season 4 finale. We don't have that excuse.

This story takes place years into the future.

As disorienting as something like that is, it's inconsistent with Discord. There's not enough mayhem.
This is one of those ideas that's so good it should be true. Nice job. My Dungeon Master friend did something like this in Dungeons & Dragons. We thought our favorite shopkeeper was living in a teleporting magic shop, with bouncy walls to keep her safe during experiments... But it turns out she was living in a giant Mimic, which could shrink to fit into her luggage whenever she teleported.
The awkward way we found out was that our wizard hit the Mimic with a bit of an AOE spell. And... Suffice it to say, the gnolls invading that street were never seen again. Every play's jaw hit the floor, mine included.
This is a very plausible idea.
Wait, how did Sunset and Sci-Twi become royalty?

This story takes place years into the future. Sunset is an alicorn, and human Twilight married Sunset.
11030172
But she's not "official" royalty in the human world?
11030213
Theoretically, she's still an illegal alien in the most hilariously literal sense.
11030213
Yep, hence why they only need the other girls.
11030265
In one of the fics I wrote, the other Rainbooms debate over whether or not Sunset is technically an alien since she's more accurately described as "extra-dimensional", not "extra-terrestrial."
11030373
Alien in this sense—the original meaning, actually—is a term of law meaning “someone who is not a citizen or a national of the state using the term”. Nuances vary by nation, but generally speaking it is synonymous with the term foreign national. So unless Sunset opted to naturalize as a citizen of the human nation where she went to live, she is in fact, by law, an alien.
. . . Yeah, I did a lot of research on the subject while writing Foreign Nationals of Unusual Importance.

Celestia's guards are there to protect anyone crazy enough deciding to attack Celestia... from Celestia.
11030058
Is not enough mayhem to make Twilight lost in her castle as the rooms change position? That seems chaotic enough for him
11030640
And the joke I was making is that she's also from another planet, which makes the use of the term somewhat humorous.
I'm pretty sure she lived in that castle for a few years not just 1.
that was actually quite funny ngl.

I'm basing my timeline on the Summer Sun Celebration. We see three Summer Sun Celebration. So, I'm going with, the series takes place over two years. It's the best timeline I got.
11031574
oh, that makes sense now, though I'm still scratching my head over the part where sunset is a princess in this story.
if it was in the fridge it should not be warm.
11029474
The royal guard is just leftover from when Equestria was ruled by normal ponies. The alicorns didn't have the heart to fire anyone, so the positions continue to this day in a purely decorative function. That's why they suck at fighting
11031583
She heated it up.
this is such a wonderful article upon reading this it gives me ideas hope to read more from you also visit my website for some of this ;<a href="https://oncagosu.com" rel="nofollow">카지노사이트</a><br>
This story with the castle with its defence is funny.
Cool idea, but the execution is a little lacking. It needs an overhaul and a lot more showing than telling.
"Fun Idea"

Thank you
Ha Ha! Great to see a new one.
Interesting idea you got there
I'm guessing this Twilight Shimmer mentioned is supposedly Sci Twi?

Sometimes I question how she got used to the castle and it's many rooms prior to moving back to Canterlot. And this is coming from someone who's bad at directions himself.

I sure wasn't expecting this story to get remastered. I enjoyed it, even if I did notice a mistake that I don't see anyone ever do with commas in a story. Overall, pretty good.

Yeah, when Sci-Twi married Sunset, that would've meant that there were two Princess Twilight Sparkles running around, and the best way they have to distinguish the two in conversation would no longer be effective. So, she took Sunset's name.
As for the commas, the fact that no body else does that is the whole point. I do it in all my stories. It doesn't interfere with the reading, and it acts as a little finger print. I'm hoping to turn this into a career. That's why I do it.
