I never quite understood the gamer Luna thing since well if "Nightmare Night" was anything to go by Luna's mindset is more medieval than her sister's. And there is a Gamer Tia tumblr as well, though she does table top RPGs instead of console based games.

Only problem with this fic I see is when you mention Gerald going to WWI in 1912, WW! didn't start until 1914, and the U.S. didn't enter until 1917...

Edit the reading of this fic has confirmed the location as Britain as such the 1917 U.S. entry is irrelevant. For that I apologize for my American centrism and ego.

Maybe you can't tell, but from certain expressions used, I'm fairly certain that the story is staged in Great Britain. So, assuming tensions were high in the years before the war, it is possible that the mentioned years are correct.

Already mentioned my realization it was in Britain, however the only conflicts prior to WWI that would fit were between the Ottoman Empire and her territories breaking off in the Balkans. Britain had no actual skirmishes with the other powers, and the only way he could have been killed off prior to that would have been some trouble in Britain's territories and thus until the actual war started an internal matter.
