A fun exercise in writing, I've enjoyed it
Pretty. And vivid. You might even say, pretty vivid.
The writing is indeed vivid. It's a very well-done writing style, full of emotion and imagery, accompanied by a solid grasp of the English language.
As much as I enjoyed the writing, though, I decided against giving it an upvote, due to it having too many unanswered questions for my personal taste. The story never actually told us who was chasing the protagonist, or what exactly was going on beyond her being chased by an enemy as part of her duties as a Guard. Don't get me wrong- the writing is amazing, and if this had been part of a larger story where those answers were explained, I would have finished it completely satisfied, with no hint of frustration- but as it is, that hint of frustration is indeed a thing I was left with.
