Back from the dead? · 3:32am Apr 30th, 2022
Just to let you know I'm back to some degree and working on a new story, which is more like two stories in one, alternate universes and such.
Also, I hope to receive more views and comments on the story.
I do this just for fun -- but sometimes I take myself a little too seriously. I know life's too short, but -- you know...
Just to let you know I'm back to some degree and working on a new story, which is more like two stories in one, alternate universes and such.
Also, I hope to receive more views and comments on the story.
I don't want you to think I'm doing something rash, and I don't want folks to think I'm planning on leaving this world permanently --
I haven't been very active on this site for a long time, and I'm taking stock of what I've written (and what hasn't been published yet)
but I have decided to cancel some of the stories I started writing a long time ago but never got around to finishing.
Others will be put on hiatus.
I have lost my muse and my heart just isn't in this pursuit anymore.
After more than a year and a half without home internet, I have finally managed to get it back.
It's also nice to not have to worry about someone looking over your shoulder trying to read what you're writing as well.
Living alone can have its advantages but also can get pretty lonely sometimes.
No, I am not seeking companionship, if that's what you're asking.
I have been dealing with life issues, along with playing a couple of games which have occupied a great deal of my time.
I have found it difficult to get my muse back, so many of my unfinished stories are gathering dust -- not to mention the fact that it's hard to write pony stuff with someone watching you over your shoulder (*cough* my GF *cough*).
I fear my writing skills may have atrophied, but I still try to write a little whenever I can.
I'm not dead -- at least, not yet anyway.
I find myself looking at my join date and also note the fact that I've been a member of this site for four years already...
I'm just amazed by how swiftly time passes.
I know I shouldn't but ...
I don't know what it is that sets some people off.
I decide to write a new story, even if it's just a spin-off of an earlier story -- and upon its approval, it picks up six very quick down-votes.
To add to that, a fair number of my other stories also picked up new down-votes, most likely from the folks who hated my work enough to peruse my library and tick off every story I've written, regardless of whether they chose to read them (or not, most likely).
I've always known the old adage, but sometimes you get sick of trying to make lemonade, especially when you can't get any sugar, water, or a pitcher to put it in. The only choice you have then is either to eat the damned things or throw them away.
I wish I could throw them back in the face of the one who's given them to me for so damned long.
I'm amazed it's been that quick -- it sure doesn't seem like it's been that long.
I will be getting my home internet back soon, so there will be more frequent updates to my stories.
So, some of you may have noticed a new fiction piece I'm writing -- truth is, while my home internet has been off, I've been working on this story in my free time. Only recently was I able to post it by means of using a flash drive.
My home internet is still off, and may be so for a bit longer.
As some of you may have surmised from a few of my stories, my 50th birthday is on the 1st of August.
