XVII – Up the Tempo · 8:41pm Mar 21st, 2023
Hey everyone! Once again, not a whole lot to show, but a few things to tell.
First off, I expect the next chapter of CA to be done pretty soon. Like, within a week or so soon. That doesn't mean it'll be fully edited and posted in a week, but it shouldn't be far off from it. I hit a really nice stride today, and I've finally got the chapter fully charted out in a way that I'm happy with, and I'm far enough into it now that I can say that what I have is concrete. Very excited to finally get all this out to y'all. I have good feelings about it.
Not only that, but sometime in the last week, I finally got the full solid outline of act II charted out and ready. The story beats are all there and ready to be adapted, and the first parts of act II should come along a bit faster than these last few chapters have. Really excited to get to the second act as that's when things are really gonna start picking up, and I have a feeling the way everything goes may end up surprising some of you—even those of you who've read CYSWIS and kind of already know how things will end up. 
As I'm getting to the halfway point of this story, I've already begun thinking about my next project. Right now, there are three ideas in the running. One of them is a story I've already talked a bit about, the other is a new idea that I've got an outline for already, and the last is a secret mystery surprise project which I probably won't get to until either the tail end of this year or maybe next year. A lot of it is up in the air, and I let my creative energy decide the course rather than force it, so I won't promise anything specifically. No matter which one I go with, though, I'm excited to get to it.
I've mentioned this before, but once the new Chromatic Aberration chapter drops, I'll be taking a short break from it. Part of this is because I need a break from writing for a bit—I've come a long way in the short time I've been doing this, and I need some time to let all I've learned sink in—but also because I want to have room to come up with ideas for this second act in case I need them.
