Hey all, it's been a while, really sorry that I've been gone so long, it was not intended but life does that to you sometimes.
Anyway, I wanted to show off some art I commissioned of our main human turned Changeling Queen from "It's good to be the Queen", as the title says this does show off what their name will end up being so if that is something you want to keep unknown then either look away now or at least don't look at the text in the top left corner lol.
Also, I am actually writing the story! Shocking I know but I figured I give you the first few hundred words of chapter 7, they might not make 100% sense without the rest but it should at least be interesting!

I was sitting on the sandstone floor of my mother's private library reading one of the ancient scrolls she kept hidden from the rest of the Hive.
The scroll I held in my claws was one detailing calling and binding, something I knew I could not do myself.
Unlike my "dear" Mother, I wasn't a Witch Queen, as she often reminded me, so the higher forms of magic were "beyond my meagre ability" to cast and as much as I hated even remotely agreeing with my Mother, I would need others to perform the complex rituals the scroll described.
Suddenly I heard the buzzing of wings approaching, I quickly put the scroll back into its proper place on the shelf and rushed out of the liberty room just as I heard Mother landing on the balcony, seconds later she walked through the curtain into the room, as she entered her amaranth eyes snapped to me and she stopped walking.
"What are you doing in my private quarters, daughter?" She said with a frown and barely hidden suspicion.
"Sorry, Queen Mother, I wanted to talk with you about my studies, I want you to teach me high magics like you're teaching Sapphiric and Umbral," I said, it was not truly a lie but I already knew what the answer would be.
Mother let out an annoyed sigh and went over to lounge on one of her large pillows, "we have been over this many times already, my daughter, you are a War Queen, not a Witch Queen like your sisters and I will not waste my time teaching you something you will never have the ability, nor understanding to cast, at least not to a level that won't kill yourself and everyling around you," she said before looking away from me and retrieving an ornate jar and crystal goblet from a resin cabinet next to her pillow and pouring some of the condensed Love gel within the jar into the goblet.
After taking a sip she looked back up at me and said, "I will hear no more on this matter, you will stick to your combat training and one day you might be competent enough to be a Queen and secure territory for your own Hive but until that time comes you will do as I say and learn what I allow you to learn, is that clear?"
"As crystal, Queen Mother," I replied trying hard to hide my burning rage.
"Good, now if that was all, leave me, your sisters are presenting some of their research into lower plane entities and I don't need you in here asking questions every time they say something you don't understand," Mother said with a dismissive wave of her claw.
"Yes, Queen Mother," I said barely keeping the edge from my voice as I walked through the curtain onto the balcony and jumped into the hot desert air.
As I flew my mind was abuzz with anger.
One day you will regret the way you've treated me! One day I will have more power than even you, "dear" Mother and on that day we will see how superior you feel when I rip the life from your wretched body and take this Hive as my own! I raged silently to myself as I flew over the sandstone city below.
Letting out a long sigh I tried to calm myself before turning to fly North West.
I need to cool off or I'm going to kill someling and mother hates wasting resources. I'll go to my oasis, noling should disturb me there and the trees should even be fruiting this time of year I thought to myself as I flew towards the mountains and the oasis I knew lay in the hoofhills beneath them.
I woke up groggily, the rage from the dream slowly leaving my system.
What the hell was that about? I've had strange dreams before but that was just weird... also, kind of concerned I'm already dreaming about being a Changeling. I thought to myself as I rubbed the sleep from my red eyes.
So there you go, I know it's out of context so might make very little sense but I figured giving something was better than nothing while you wait for my sorry ass to get the rest done lol.
Also, on a last note.
I know the story isn't 100% not safe for work but I am a terrible degenerate so there are in fact NSFW versions of the artwork, if you want to see them then Put this "/profiles/What-dash-there-dash-once-dash-was" after derpibooru . org or just search the oc:Queen Laniakea tag and that should bring you to them, so yeah if you want it that's where it is and not only is everything on full display but I've added lore on how it all works so if that side interests you that is also over there.

The art looks dope. Makes the Changelings of old look even more Primal and Intimidating than the ones at the time of FiM.
Also really cool teaser. Looks like our MC has his first vision of either events of the future, or... 'memories' of the past...

Yeah that was the vibe I was going for, more spiky, more armoured looking and with the funny little grabbers, 8 limbs for the win lol. Oh also this won't come in until much much later so I don't think it's really a spoiler but they are also much bigger than fim Changelings, in fact everyone is bigger at the moment, the average Zebra (and pony) is about the same size as Celestia will be at this point in time.
Glad you like it! Yeah it will be something to look out for as the story progresses, I just hope I do the idea I have for it justice, in my head it all sounds really cool and interesting but getting it down as words in a coherent story that other can understand is the harder part lol

oh yeah, I see what the problem is, ok I forgot how derpi does things and that it goes by artist rather than by profile.
Put this /profiles/What-dash-there-dash-once-dash-was after derpibooru . org and that should work, also why does the link spell out dashes lol?
Ok I also tagged them as a named oc so you should be able to find them under the oc:Queen Laniakea tag.
Let me know if that works by the way.
