NEW OC DO NOT STEAL · 1:47am Mar 27th, 2023
Oh hey, I still have a blog thing here.
In any case, my tabletop gaming crew ran a one-shot of the Tales of Equestria RPG over the weekend. Was fun! The intro kit adventure was ... kind of oddly designed, almost like a Choose Your Own Adventure thing instead of a 'traditional' RPG supplement. Though at the same time, the adventure is also basically a dungeon crawl, just without the typical murderhobo violence. Just goofy good times all around.
Everyone wound up making their own pones for said adventure. Which brings us to Cloudraker, a meteorologist-in-training pegasus pony. Y'know, one of those ones who's always doing weather type stuff. With a red hair/purplish coat color scheme because the DM used random Scooby Doo toys as PC minis, and I figured Cloudraker would be the Daphne. (We couldn't find the Fred mini). And yes I stole the name from an obscure Transformer character. There is precedent for that sort of thing.
And, like all great TTRPG characters, Cloudraker is an idiot. See, in the Tails of Equestria system, all PC's get to pick an Element of Harmony, so I wound up going with Laughter, in the "Laughs in the Face of Death" sense. Which was my excuse to fly into the most dangerous course of action in any given situation that came up. Which was entirely too entertaining, even if "fight the Kaiju sized dragon with a pointy stick" is rarely an effective strategy.
But! Despite Cloudraker's best (worst?) efforts, the adventure was completed, and the day was saved. Good times. And now I have a new OC who I probably won't write novel length fanfiction about.
Not ruling out a cameo, though.
Of course, that's assuming i writ eanything of consequence in the near future, which ... may be a big 'if,' but hey.
My RPG characters tend to either possess the team's sole brain cell concerned with self-preservation, or are the ones most eager to delve in to That Which Man Was Not Meant to Know. Either way, everyone involved has fun. Glad you did as well!
Fun times.

Generally in GURPS I tend to take Weirdness Magnet and Paranoia because the GM always tends to lob the weird stuff at me anyway and I play a very careful character, so free points, yea! (sometimes Curious too, because its a personal thing that bleeds over into my gameplay)
Someday I plan on running a character with the self-destructive trifecta of disads: Overconfidence, Impulsive, and Curious. A short life but a merry one.
Obviously you now need to commission a pic of your character, with pointy stick and everything!
