Exciting news! The new chapter is almost done!
That's a whole lotta words, ain't it? I promise that, going forward, the chapters won't be that long unless they're super important. My personal rule when it comes to chapters is that I have a soft limit of 10,000 words. As much as I want to be thorough and illustrate everything that needs to be seen, I do want to respect your time and deliver to you a chapter you don't have to take breaks to finish. If this weren't such a pivotal moment in the story, I would have trimmed a lot off, especially when you consider these two chapters are about a single night.
I've talked about it a few times now, but I've been pretty perfectionist about this act ending which is a big reason this particular chapter has taken so long to get to this point. This wasn't like chapter 5—another chapter I spent a lot of time and effort on—where it was hard to write, so to speak. This was pretty easy all things considered. I've had everything mapped out for this part of the chapter for a good amount of time, but mapping something doesn't mean I've charted the best course through it.
So, you might be wondering: it's got all those words; why hasn't it dropped yet??? Good question! We're on the final stages of editing right now, but once that's done, it'll be time to publish. I'm not going to offer a time frame as to when it's done, but I am going to say these two things: it'll be done when it's done, and it'll probably be done sooner than you might think.
Have patience. 
As mentioned in previous entries, I will be taking a short break from this story and writing in general after this chapter drops. I estimate being back at it again sometime in late April/early May, but nothing is certain. It may be June before I get back, it may be mid April—the winds of time will set the course, and I'll just be along for the ride.
