The show was actually originally developed for HBO Max IIRC; it's just that with all the stuff going on with Warner Bros. and all their nonsense, it wound up getting bounced around to different distributers, and I guess Adult Swim ended up deciding to take it.
So I think it's a case where they aren't making the show, moreso just hosting it.
I still can't get over how Lois looks like an adult version of Luz from The Owl House.
