    Restart

Decided to scrap the origin First chapter, going into the start of the new one I wanted to get whatever feedback I can from whoever sees this. I’ll be posting a small part of the redone chapter, still a bit of a way to go at the moment so eh I’ll just post a little snippet of the new Chapter 1

    Stuff

Welp here we go, writing stuffs with absolutely no coherent plan or schedule. + It's kinda gonna be terrible. But meh I make what I make.
I'll take any advice or criticism I can find. + I still kinda haven't worked out my own writing 'style' if that's a thing. I feel like most of what I write is a tad too random, but again ya know improvement takes time.... Probably :moustache:

‘Evergreen Station’

Thick smoke and steam washed over the station's platform as I disembarked from the front carriage, my Carbine tucked under my left wing as I took a long breath of air, looking around the platform as I did so, the few ponies going about their business stopped and stared as the rest of my troopers started to disembark.

One of those first troopers to disembark, Sky Sergeant Contrail immediately began barking orders. Getting the company on the move after our long journey. “Alright get those crates unloaded, we have 10 minutes to get every bit of equipment from that train troopers move your flanks!”

Troopers ram back and forth from the train moving, Ammo, weapons, food, even extra uniforms we’d been given for some reason. I spent the time watching over some of my newer squad leaders, giving them a few pointers.

Out of the corner of my eye I noticed a group of uniformed Earth ponies approaching, they wore the emblem of the Westlands Militia. It's two blue suns weirdly easy to notice at a distance.

I gave a quick order to gather up my platoon leaders, before trotting over to meet the approaching militia. “Captain” , one of the militia, a 2nd Lieutenant acknowledged before  giving me a quick salute as she handed me a scroll.

“Lieutenant” I recognised returning her salute.

“The Lord of Evergreen is currently away ma’am, I’ve been sent to escort you to meet Major Bardich he's been left in command until Lord Silverstep returns tomorrow morning” I sighed in annoyance, the Nobles were always a pompous bunch, especially in times of crisis most would leave somepony else to deal with the issue while they went out to some country estate, even during times of war few nobles have ever actually voluntarily fought for Equestria at least in recent times. I gave the mare a quick nod before motioning my platoon leads over.

“Alright then, I’ll be heading over to meet with the town's militia commander to sort out the civilian evacuation and logistics for 2nd Company's arrival later tonight. Jericho, Keitt, take your platoons over to the western suburbs, there should be a few evacuated buildings you’ll be able to occupy until we get the rest of the civilians out in the evening” Jericho and Keitt gave me a quick salute before departing to get their Platoons up and moving.

“Rush take up positions just north of the Suburbs near the town's church, you’ll be running the evacuation up there, be as patient as you can with those ponies, you know what they're like with us Thestrals, ‘Remnants of Nightmares’ and all that crap. Don’t start a fight and try not to hurt them if they provoke you” I knew Rush wasn’t the aggressive type, he probably had one of the coolest heads in the entire military, in the past I’d seen the Lieutenant stare down Timberwolves and the damn bastard couldn’t have been more relaxed.

“Always the most ‘intense’ jobs for 2nd ey Captain” Lieutenant Rush joked, giving me a bemused smirk before saluting and departing briskly, I couldn’t help but shake my head in amusement.

“And finally Firecracker get set up a few blocks behind the other platoons, prepare whatever rear lines you can, I’ll send Flight Sergeant Starling with you to get our logistics and rationing station sorted around your area, alright get to it” Firecracker collected his maps before getting his and Starlings sections ready to move.

“Sky Sergeant go find Viewfinders squad, their probably passed out in one of the local inns or the Militia Barracks, have whoever’s in shape meet us at the Town Hall, I want their report at the meeting”

“On it Ma’am” Contrail took off to find the likely drunk Recon Section I’d sent to watch the town two days earlier along with mapping out possible Imperial attack routes.

I really didn’t expect his squad to be in any shape to be at the meeting, but even if they weren’t. Hopefully Major Bardich would fill me in once we arrived at town hall.

“Alright, we’re moving out towards the town center, Lieutenant lead on” I motioned to the Militia Officer as my command group fell in behind her troopers.
