Ultra Sneak Preview... Just a little of what my Muse shoved into my head. · 4:46am Jun 26th, 2023
Twilight Sparkle watched as a mass of darkness moved onto the stage where Princess Celestia should have been. It looked like a field of stars with whole galaxies twinkling in a black backdrop. Then it changed the stars glowed brighter till in a flash a pony stood on the stage. Her body was dark as the night sky with a flowing mane of color similar to the aurora borealis of the far north. Her legs ended in sparkling white like freshly fallen snow, and on her flank was the cutie mark of a galaxy.
Asteria took the time to look over the ponies in the room "Oh look! They are here. I see Twilight, Rarity, Applejack, Pinkie, and Rainbo..." In response to her inner thoughts a second voice spoke up, one full of venom and arrogance "Shut up!" and deep within the mind of Asteria a whimper from a third voice and nothing more.
"What have you done to our Princess?" Rainbow Dash demanded the strange alicorn standing on stage.
"What have I done? Oh, you think I did something to Celestia? This won't do." Asteria looked about "I'm, sorry it seems there was a misunderstanding. You see I'm..." Asteria was interrupted by Twilight Sparkle.
"Your Nightmare Moon! You are going to bring Eternal Night!"
The gathered ponies gasp and before Mayor Mare spoke to the guards Astria laughed. "Ha... Nightmare Moon. Whatever was I thinking, really that sounds like some name a filly going through a phase would use." Then in a childish voice "No Daddy I'm not Herbal spice! I'm Nightmare Moon!" Within her mind the voice of Nightmare Moon cursed and the third voice actually laughed.
Out loud Asteria wiped an imaginary tear from her eye. "Sorry, it's true that at one time like a thousand years ago, I had such a stupid fight with Celestia. However, you be surprised at how much one grows up after a thousand years. That whole eternal night thing would cause such problems both to our dear citizens, but also to the planet. Not to mention the whole world of other beings who would probably go to war with Equestria to have the day and night cycle returned."
Mayor Mare then spoke up "Speaking about the Day returning..." She lost her nerve and looked to the guards and then at the stunned Twilight Sparkle.
Asteria's face hoofed. "The sun, right this is the summer sun celebration. You all spend all night waiting for the morning. Being the Princess of the Night I thank you all and hoped you enjoyed my beautiful night. I figured that's why Celestia has the celebration happen so you can all experience it. Well, guess I should raise the sun." With that Asteria lit her horn a soft blue glow and the moon lowered follow by the sun rising. "Do accept my apologies I haven't lowered the moon in a thousand years, and I think this is the first time Celestia hasn't had a day off in many more."
Ignoring the shocked expressions Asteria made her way to the doorway, stopping at Twilight Sparkle. "You must be my sister's student. She talks to me at night, even if I was on the moon doesn't mean I wasn't paying attention. Do write to her and inform her I will be waiting at our castle."
With that Asteria turned to her nebula form and drifted into the Everfree. Within her mind Princess Luna finally spoke up "You told us about the bearers of Harmony. Wouldn't this change things?" Asteria responds "It will, I'm hoping Twilight's curiosity will still drive her into the Everfree, and the others follow her still. I just don't know how to get her to realize the spark of friendship that she needs. Nightmare Moon chimed in "There is no way that purple pest defeated me!" Asteria chuckled "Nightmare she defeated you in many realities and timelines. You were just the first villain, and far from the last. Now let me think we will need Twilight and the others to stop Discord.
That's all I have in my head at the moment. The idea of a returned Princess Luna/ Nightmare Moon commenting on how Nightmare Moon sounded like a name a filly going through a Goth phase would use popped into my head and wouldn’t leave.
That got me thinking of personality of the pony and how she be different from NMM and Princess Luna. So the idea of somebody else joining with Luna started.
Things might change maybe removing NMM from the situation. I just thinking Luna has the Moon, Dreams, and Stars, but no one really knows what aspect is influenced by the Stars.
Keep the nightmare in it this is hilarious
I love the idea of this story and I think it will be the best if NM stayed but only had a body of a per teen. Of course Luna would have her normal body and as for Asteria he and I do mean a stallion, but since he is in Luna's body at first everyone gets shocked we he actually separates from the others. Yes he must be an alicorn stallion causing Luna, Celestia, NMM, and old Blueballs to pass out.

I must say you got me thinking up some ideas. Perhaps the mane six do use the Elements of Harmony and separate the three.
Nightmare Moon ending up a teenager fits with “It’s just not a phase” goth phase comment Asteria said in my little sneak peek.

I have two comedy suggestions. One Blueblood is gay has it so bad for Asteria that he gets a permanent gender change potion and becomes Bluebell. All Asteria has to say is Big Mac's NOPE on the issue. The second is Asteria loves to give/receive snuggles and nuzzles so he gets to deal with Molestia.

You have got me thinking and this whole sneak peek is being scrapped to make it happen. The MC getting a name change to a more male name.
A teenage Nightmare Moon just has me chuckling. Can’t make her to young I already did that in my Mother Moon series.

Molestia being a no go is fine, having NMM, Luna, or Celestia having a major crush on him could be comedy gold. Still it's your call. Still I could really see NMM turning red and becoming just as quiet and shy as pinky's sister when he is around. One second she is going on about the hole dark and Goth stick the he walks in the room and she squeaks turns red then freezes. Still how many will be after him just because he is an alicorn? That is a question you will have to decide.
