I'm Back! · 1:32am Nov 2nd, 2023
Hey everyone, I'm back from my Grandma's. Ended up stay longer then expected; Four days became a week, then a week became some extra days. Honestly thought it was gonna become two weeks.
But I'm back now, so What'd I miss?
Note for JNKing: While away I had an idea for a new chapter in Dragonfly Hive after playing Star Wars: Republic Commando, I'll message it to you when I've got some last-minute details sorted out.
Welcome back, buddy.
Didn't miss much; our OCs celebrated Halloween in their own ways. Star tried an experimental spell that put some of her friends into one of her video games (Didn't work out as well as she'd hoped it would ) and now my OCs are figuring out some adventures to take on during the wait for Veteran's Day and Thanksgiving.
Will definitely be interested in seeing what idea you have for Dragonfly Hive. Will message you back as soon as my job allows me (Since Thanksgiving and Christmas are getting closer, my work load's increasing, and I don't have as much free time as I usually do. Nevertheless, I'll find the time to respond back when I can. )

Does it ever? Still, it was nice of Star to try and bring her friends along for the ride.
I can give a few details; It brings a new species called "Desert Lizards", haven't fully figured out the details yet but what I can say is they're a revised concept for a fifth Kirin race that never got of the ground (thought the DLs are, at least distantly, related to Dragons). The DLs also make use of "Crystal Technology", which as the name implies is centered around various kinds of crystals (an idea that come from the cartoon Storm Hawks), and their homeland is called the "Barren Desert"; a harsh wasteland with miles upon miles of empty sun-scorched sand (in some places it gets hot enough to literally set the sand on fire! ) with only the sun-baked wreckage of the DLs airships and war golems laying about forgotten and abandoned. In-all; the Desert Lizards live a harsh life of constant warfare with Tribes battling each other endlessly for resources (the Barren Desert is actually very rich in resources, just not the ones needed for basic survival like water) and often times a Tribe will sell its services out to whoever pays them, though there is one cause they will happily do for free: fighting Slavers, whom the DLs hate with every last atom of their being (if you were to hire a Tribe to fight against slavers that Tribe and any others not doing anything else would be more then willing to work for you, at no charge to you), and there are some Tribes who will work for good causes. There's even one, formed from fallen remnants of destroyed Tribes, that's trying to unite the DL Tribes, and Star Wing might or might not have some relation with this Tribe.
More details will come up in the idea I'll be showing you soon-ish.
I understand that; this month and the next tend to be times when I'm not very active here as well, though it's kind of been like that this whole year.

Life is so much more fun with friends.
Reminds me a bit of the terra-drakes, or earth dragons from my own books.
Though in the terra-drake's case, they were bred by the human military to be architects and builders/cleaners. In essence, every time some big Marvel style battle occurs between dragons and wolves and destroys a city, the terra-drakes are expected to go in after the battle and clean up the place, restoring buildings to their original state, repairing streets, and other things like that.
Oh-ho, intrigue. I look forward to finding out how she might be related to them.
No worries, buddy; we all got our own stuff to deal with. I appreciate you still finding time to put in posts like these, as well as you being patient with waiting for my own responses.

Interesting, and that makes sense; with those kind of battles taking place damage to the surrounding area would be quite the job and cost a lot, especially in cities, to do so by having the Terra-Drakes around these areas are repaired and rebuild much easier, faster, and perhaps at a much lower cost.
One thing we humans are good at, besides making weapons, is adapting to our environment.

Exactly; thanks to the terra-drakes having control over earthen materials - which extends to wood, concrete and plastic - they can put a building back together in just a few minutes.
Like you said, easier, faster and cheaper.
