Friendship is Card Games: Epic (Noun) Time

Yeah, we’re dipping into the fandom archives for this one. Literally, given that the Alligator Tub Productions YouTube channel has renamed itself and wiped its content. But the Internet never forgets (except when it does) so let’s look at some classic fan animation and see how well it holds up.

Friendship is Card Games: Ponyville Mysteries: Schoolhouse of Secrets

This is an interesting situation. I begin my look at the Ponyville Mysteries novel series, which predates the Ponyville Mysteries comics I reviewed back in… 2019, my goodness.

Well, let’s get this started before my bones turn to dust.

    Egregious Automaton: Retract

Ahem. So. Upon further investigation, it is possible that the primary source for the "AI voices" brouhaha may, in fact, have been full of crap. Or at the very least, does not work at Hasbro.

    Egregious Automaton

You may have already heard about this from Equestria Daily or elsewhere in your personal bit of the Webbernets, but the reason behind the abrupt end of Make Your Mark has come to light.

Friendship is Card Games: Set Your Sail, #1 & #2

As “The Blockywockys” showed, seaponies never stopped being a thing. Whether they’re the same thing in this comic as Destiny the underwater friendship bracelet weaver remains to be seen. Let’s dive in and find out.

Arcbound Lancers · 2:06pm January 15th

All stories stop. Some are lucky enough to end properly.

(Before anyone panics, this isn’t goodbye from Fimfiction.)

A fond farewell to the highlights of my Sundays for the last two years:

Eagle, resident beekeeper and pilot of a perfectly normal Everest.

Lion, raining death from the heavens and nearly melting himself in the process.

Bus Driver, refining the art of shattering giant robots’ kneecaps.

Double W, keeping the rest of us on target and making life miserable for our enemies.

Thought Prism, our ever-capable GM courageously herding this clowder (and author of Rising Flames!)

And, of course, Redwire, nigh-unflappable inventor of the Boomchucker, who it has been my privilege to play through the war on Conjecture-5, and to see off to his retirement educating the next generation of concerningly effective explosioneers.

Lancer is a fun game. If you can find a group up for giant robot fights, I highly recommend you give it a try.

(And if anyone wants to hear a summary of the campaign, I was taking notes…)

If you can find a group up for giant robot fights

If you can't find a group up for giant robot fights, something very strange is going on. Chicks dig giant robots. :rainbowdetermined2:

Highlights and notes are *always* appreciated here n_n

You switched Eagle and Lion's names by accident. :derpytongue2:

you took notes, you say? 🙄

I'll have to see how well I can put together the tales of wonder and explosions!

I have no idea what you're talking about. :trixieshiftleft::trixieshiftright:

Hey, someone should. I enjoy being the playgroup's designated stenographer. I do the same thing with my RL Lancer campaign on Saturdays.

Huzzah! I look forward to tales of derring-do!

Always willing to give it a go if you are :raritywink:

Notes, you say? :raritystarry:

I'll have to see how well I can put together the tales of wonder and explosions!

Why did you just say the same thing twice?

LANCER MENTIONED

GIANT ROBOTS GO BRRRRT

Few things as satisfying as a good rpg campaign coming to a good conclusion :moustache:

One of those things is giant robots. Oh look, this RPG has giant robots! :rainbowkiss:

Is that going to be another regular blog? I'd love to hear about it...

Man, I'd love to play in a proper LANCER game sometime.

And that also reminds me of a random idea I had about matching various ponies to various mechs. I mean, obviously Applejack will play a Raleigh. Then Rainbow Dash just picks a Pegasus without knowing anything about the game. Rarity goes with something Smith-Shimano just based on the aesthetic, and so on.

I should get back into TTRPGs sometime. I had a pretty good Pathfinder 2e campaign with some friends about a year or two ago, but we sadly had to cancel it due to various scheduling complications.
