Question of the Week #154 · 2:19am Last Wednesday
Hello everyone and welcome back to the question of the week. Well, we might be changing the title of this blog for a few different reasons. 
One is that I'm really busy as of late, which often times results in me being tired when I come home and sometimes I have trouble thinking of questions to ask.
Second, I've been having trouble working on the "Act 3," for my main Neo Somnambula story, so one thing I will be doing is giving it a deadline to essential put a fire under my ass for motivation. For now I'm going to try to keep the actually deadline a secret, but I will say that I plan to have the rough draft (and hopefully the last draft) finished before the end of the year. 
But because of this, I am considering no longer doing Questions of the Week, and instead essentially calling it something else and doing it at more convenient times. Maybe it could be called, Question of Convenients. 
Now with that addressed, let me go ahead and ask you all a couple of questions. 
So, in the story of Neo Somnambula, Equestria went through an apocalyptic event called the Daybreak. Now while the Cutie Mark Crusaders were around, the event occurred before they received their cutie marks, at least not the canonical way they did in the show.
Furthermore, while they were friends because of events that transpired, all three of them ended up being seperated.
This essentially results in 2 questions:
- Would their cutie marks be the same as in the show or would they be different?
- If they are different, what cutie marks do you think might best fit the CMC?

I think they'd be different. There's too much divergence from canon for me to believe that they'd get different variations of the same mark.
But I think it'd be fun if they all shared a same pattern or color, something that shows they're still supposed to be friends no matter what.
they'd probably be different cutie marks, life in the desert is harsh.
scootaloo gets something related to driving (if cars or motorbikes exist)
sweetie belle might get something related to magic (sand magic, water magic?, fire magic)
apple bloom might get either a plant related thing, or a fighter related thing
I am still not versed enough to really understand the world; the environment tends to shape the character.
I'll assume that everything is desert like Cyberpunk 2077, mixed will mountainous sands and minor greenery for locations with mountains. Like Canterlot. The town and cities are the same, but the difference is that the sands between towns make it look like they're in the middle of the desert no matter where they look.
Other than that, the towns, cities, and villages will all look ordinary, including concrete and asphalt grounds
Since that is established, I think they split once anyone got their cutie mark, but all at much different times. As usual, I believe Apple Bloom got it last and is alone.
I think Scootaloo got it first and I'll assume she doesn't have Rainbow Dash as a big influencer in her life other than being a fan. With that, I think she isn't quite satisfied with having a cybernetic wing holding a bonesaw for a cutie mark. She has ambitions of being a wonderbolt but her interest in a functional set of wings to replace her useless ones has steered her to the path of helping the disabled, rich or poor.
But if she had a similar relationship to Rainbow Dash in the show, Scootaloo might have been inspired to maintain her body biologically, with minimal modifications, and got cutie marks of a Daybreaker-Sun-esque wheels leaving a trail on the ground. She got pretty good at traversing the deserts that even Rainbow Dash might have even became her fan instead. She became awesome.

Sweetie Belle would remain the same. A star with a musical note. A singer is pretty stable, tends to stick to the same ponies despite being a different universe. Well, most art forms, really.
But, if Cxcd's wildly strong theory about Sweetie Belle being a potential prereformed Starlight Glimmer is true, I believe she will go down a path that backfired on Rarity's noble grooming.
Sweetie Belle would have a cutie mark of... well the same star and music note. Maybe an... eviler looking star that feels like a Daybreaker? Except explody?
She's likely vying for control of Neo Somnambula through a discreet, magical, dominating personality and reputation. Just like how Rarity would have done it.
Apple Bloom, an average late blooming Apple, would have become a chemist. A cutie mark of an apple with christening water dripping onto a flower head.
Regardless of whether she got a into potions from Zecora or Twilight, or even her fears of not being a farmer like her family, she's stuck in a corporate lab and she's miserable. The robotic like deadlines, the office politicking, and the chemical research into things that are very morally grey like:
1. Poison Joke for the masses.
2. Drugs. Hard and harder. For medicinal 'use'.
3. Subscription nanomachines. 'For the health'.
4. Equine AI. This time, more equine.
Like the previous ponies, if she had a Daybreaker-esque theme, she would probably get a big flaming apple and she would be a bodyguard.
Apparently, being bullied by Tiara tends to bring Filthy Rich's attention to his daugther's bad attitude. So he approached and apologised to the Apple family and was given a deal to make his daugther request that they hired Apple Bloom as her chaperone slash bodyguard.
It's a safe job and nothing too crazy. I can see an interesting relationship here. I kinda like that Tiara can actually click well with the crusaders in the show. I'd love to see this dynamic.
