I didn't like how the chapter ended... so I changed it.

So, in this chapter, I didn't like how I ended it, how fast I progressed and how unnecessary somethings were... I made it more suiting to mine, and hopefully more your liking.

    I liked this episode. Why?

    Singing.

Saw Derpy. I KNEW SHE'D COME BACK!

    Celestia Sang.

    Saw Luna.

    Rarity's and Twilight's singing voice.

    Saw excited Lyra.

And guess what? If Twilight is a princess now, and may live in the castle, more Luna.

Why people may dislike your story. · 11:20pm Jan 1st, 2013

As authors, many of us wonder why we see that little red bar progress, race and compare with our green little friend, yet mostly we hear praise from the green guys... it's the silent red ones that worry us the most. So, here are the reasons as to why you may get disliked.

Logical and illogical not in order, I write it as I think it.

1) You have poor grammar, spelling, punctuation skills, but that's okay, you'd learn.

2) You are unoriginal, doing something closely related to A) My little Dashie B) Cupcakes C) Any other famous fiction out there, with no added plot twist.

3) Well... I am just stating this one out there, DO NOT EVER... EVER PUT RELIGION into your stories, it will seriously fuck you up. People are very sensitive.

4) I did not enjoy the story as much as everyone else did. That is opinion.

5) It's clop (Seriously, you guys should just click off the mature tab)

6) Trolls- i) Because sometimes, you have a high number of likes.
ii) Because you are a famous author. (Seriously, there are some people like that)

7) Some people just don't like Halo as much as the other guy.

8) OC characters... really, that is a stupid reason to dislike, but yet, they do dislike. It's like saying, there are no other wizards than Harry Potter and the main cast in Hogwarts. Ah, but yet, people fail to recognize that the most admired pieces of work in this fandom are actually OC related. FO:E, Past Sins, etc.

9) I've mentioned this before, but this seriously needed a separate mentioning. If you're not me, or another one guy who I know have written something using ANYTHING related to Cupcakes, with the same overused gory shit... I bid you, good luck.

10) This is pretty obvious, mentioned in number 8, but this seriously needed one by itself... again. OC Mary Sue alicorns.

11) Another pretty obvious one, generalzoi pony creator cover art.

12) Honestly, this is just me, SOME readers out there, as well as myself have been spoiled by other polished better fics, so they begin to compare from their better readings.

Note: I have never disliked a fic unless it was: A) Unoriginal or B) COMPLETELY UNREADABLE. Never.

How to avoid getting the brunt of dislikes:

1) Take the Mary Sue test before writing, I took mine and got a nice average to write a story without crossing its borders.

2) Put an actual story in your clop fiction, not just random sex here and there with dicks waggling all over the place and shit. It's called a story for a reason!
3) Get a damn good proofer if you can't handle all that technical crap since you're still learning.
4) No Cupcakes (Can't stress on that enough.)
5) Don't be an obnoxious brat to criticism. This place is small enough, and word spreads of your name pretty quickly. Your rep and stories is all you got here.

AND LAST, BUT NOT LEAST! THE BIGGEST ONE OF THEM ALL WHILE FOLLOWING THOSE STEPS!

thanks for the tips

and for alicorns are you talking about overpowered ones or oc ones in general?

Lol You probably give some of the simplest yet most important advise I see in these types of blogs. Not to mention the truthfulness of it all. People will learn a lot reading this.

Thanks for the tip, and also what is the Mary Sue test?

670598 Be creative and original enough to let it pass by. Don't just be like, "OH MAH GAWDZ, BORN WITH WINGZ AND HORNZ?! I SHALL SUMMON VOLCANOES!"

670604 It's a test you take to measure your character if it is actually considered Mary Sue or not... seriously, it helps a lot.

670605 right do you know any one who can help me with my story mainly pointers

670610 Can you give me a link to it?

670593 Go fuck yourself... with :heart::heart::heart::heart:

670615 Added it in!

i think i'm safe from most of these. ...i suppose i only have to worry about my oc... :twilightblush:

edit: good news, he's not a mary sue...of course, he's not an alicorn, either. :scootangel:

Big thanks! Have some pinkies! :pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy:

670687 Nothin', guuuuuuurl. H-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-how you doin'?

dear lord man, That test.....fuck it pulling out the TL:DR (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻)

670722 Yeah, I was like that too, but I got a non-boring non-Mary Sue Character!

Seriously, these tips are a lifesaver. Note that not all alicorn OC's are considered bad, and that having flaws in your character make for a greater story to tell.

Strangely enough I remember doing this test a while back and many multiple times, all I can say is, "The number never stayed the same. Up and down from uber-sue to not-really a sue. Congratulations Shadow Mark, even you can make something confusing, even more confusing." :trollestia:

Edit: Just did the one for Volcanous (he's the Blacksmith Templar OC I made who's literally the definition of 'Tank') he got 4 points.... Anti-sue.
Yeah, this test will NEVER work for me, but I recommend others to take a try:rainbowlaugh:

The dislikes of my story have all happened because it's a FoE fic, which some people just downvote without bothering to read.

Lol you can be unoriginal and still get a lot of likes and be a "famous" writer here :raritywink:

670817 Yeah, I left out Pony X does Y for a reason.

some of them were loaded for the use of ponies
such as the power of flight or wings or having special markings

I would like to suggest that "Accomplish something by the end of the story". There are times that in writing, yes, it may stall here or there in a buildup, but if nothing happens in a finale, by the end, that all goes back to normal. It kills the readers desire to enjoy anything more you've written. I won't even look at ss&e for this very reason. It doesn't matter what story, or why, but the first signs of this in any author. And I bail in both the watch and quick to hit the remove follow button, explaining why at least. I know I am alone very likely in this viewpoint and answer, but it seems a relevant point in the way of many authors seem to seek an established end of normal, instead of something having shaped the world, however small it has changed it.

OC Mary Sue alicorns.

That's actually a fic name like in here...By KingofSquirrels

I did the test for two characters and both got 36 - 55, which surprised me because one is an immortal demon God guy, and the other was ordinary bloke.
Also some of the questions were totally against ponies.
But this still helped

This has given me a good deal to think about...It may explain the sudden 16 dislikes on my sequel when I posted it. I'm not just saying this for reference, but I just don't know what went wrong. My first story was doing fine, and still has about 5 dislikes, yet, I posted my sequel, got 16 or so dislikes and even more irritatingly got no comments on what was wrong.

Glad I took that Mary Sue test (had a score of 92), I really need to work on that before I start writing my fic.:facehoof::facehoof:

I got a score of 11 on the mary stu test, because i am so goddam well developed

I shall use these useful tips and make my fiction better!!!

Interesting! One of my OC's got 25 so that means I'll probably be in the clear. I'll definitely follow this advice man. Thanks.

20 Points...

Phew!

Number 3 is debatable, because I have seen some pretty god fics, about religion... and by that i mean, the Jesus visits Ponyville ones... DONT JUDGE ME!

Past Sins

Ew gay.
