Cadenceverse! Background and Side Characters.

Now we move onto the background and side character form the L! and M! verses respectively, if a character isn't mentioned here they probably aren't being changed... or I've forgotten them and need to be reminded. This was originally part of one post but I split them up so the post wasn't so large.
Anyway I hope this is enjoyable and interesting.

Background and Side Characters:

We've already discussed the princess's, so they would either be in the background, or only show up in extremely special circumstances or in cut scenes, or not at all, due to their self imposed exile.

The Sparkle family are among the nobles who stayed in Canterlot and tried to re-stabilize Equestria after the princess's disappeared, a fact they and other nobles like them take great pride in. They started of relatively low ranked, but through being competent & hard working, they managed to become very highly ranked and powerful after 500 years, there have been numerous Sparkle's elected as Canterlots Consul of the state through-out history and they have generally been well liked by the commoners.

They, like many noble ponies of Canterlot, feel it's important for Canterlot to maintain it's independence from Equestria/Cadence and that it should work hard to maintain it's unique culture, accent and history, they saw the advantages in signing up with Cadence and are very friendly and even tempered.

Like many Canterlot nobles they feel a little pushed to the side and believe that Cadence should have joined Canterlot first and respect the noble lines as opposed to allying with and working with other states and being mroe inclined to work with commoners than nobles. But unlike many other nobles (Blueblood) they aren't as bothered by the new political system and are quite happy to view themselves as part of the "oversight" committee for Equestria as a whole. They aren't really arrogant or haughty to commoners, nor would they have an issue if their children wished to marry commoners. Overall they are patriotic and fairly friendly, but are very proud to have been a part of Canterlot's history and like many nobles view it as the center of Equestria.

I might just have Shining Armor as captain of the royal guard as normal. But I'd rather do something a bit different. Shining would probably almost certainly not marry Princess Cadence or have a romantic relationship with her. I think I might make him the police chief of Canterlot and the city guards as opposed to the royal guards. He's friendly, loves Canterlot, is easy going and can throw out some fairly epic shield spells. He'd probably have a sort of background role in dealing with changelings and the like as well as city security/corruption/crime. Though I could also have him as a dignitary/diplomat/politician.

Viynl Scratch and Octavia are Cadence's court musicians and while Cadence dislikes conflict, she is somewhat responsible for egging the two musician rivalry to greater heights as the two diametrically opposed ponies clash, Viynl representing modern music in Cadence's court and Octavia classical music and when they compete with each other they push one another to higher and higher levels of quality.

Pokey would probably be a background character who most likely works as a miner, a bureaucrat or maybe a jouster.

Berry woudl run her bar or work at a bar as normal.

Spike would be Twilight's assistant, but mostly in name only at this early stage in his life. He wouldn't get in the way, but he'd be sort of there when ever Twilight was around, because she doesn't want to leave him alone, and feels it's never to early to teach him advanced mathematics.

I actually imagine the Apple Family would be rather separated and not a single clan like in canon, likely due to the feuding states. They'd still be sort of "aware" of each others families due to some traceable family trees, but they aren't that close, unless they live in the same state and have done so for generations

Fancy and Fluer, I'd probably make them both famous actors who invested well and are now part of the cultural elite that they entertained, I imagine Cadence would be something of a fan and go to see there shows and they'd be sort of friends.

BlueBlood would be his canon self, he's egotistical, narcissistic and arrogant, he looks down on commoners and other nobles alike and is completely unaware everyone hates him, even the other nobles, his family's reputation fell apart eventually when they grew unbearable and maybe inbred a little to much for the other nobles to stomach.

The Wonderbolts would be elite pegasi shock troops, essentially the blue angels except they can conjure weather and elemental magics, with their wings and flying speeds, I may make use of Spitefire, but they'd mostly be around as worf's and to serve as guards/celebrities/entertainers, so essentially the same as canon. They may have a different name though and there likely wouldn't be any Shadowbolts, but if there are, they'd essentially just be sneaky scouts and border patrol.

Flim & Flan, they are the same as ever, but they may get a more sympathetic portrayal because while they were jerks, they weren't actually lying in canon about how good their cider was. They may be travelers who go from state to foreign countries finding new ideas and trying to squeeze money out of them or just magical inventors who are particularly good with apple based magic/machinery, maybe even famous chef's or something to that affect.

Zecora, suffice to say I have numerous plans for her, none of which end with her as an element, but she'd certainly have a role, slightly different from her current one, and I imagine it would either be quite large or at least implied to be, even if it doesn't impact directly on the characters. There are a few ideas involving her having fought one of the villains in the past or maybe being an acquaintance one Cadence's, but that's rather up in the air.

Amethyst Star, will probably have a similar background to her L!verse counterpart, but there's some plans there, perhaps.

I may want to use Film Reel for something, as I love her design.

So any questions, suggestions or comments would be appreciated... didn't I say these were going to be short?
Also was splitting it up the right choice?
