I need opinions here...

Well... I'm not sure. I want to continue writing this story. I do. But, I keep thinking that I can't do it. Iunno. I think I went in over my head by trying to start my writing 'career' here with a multi-chapter story. So, I want your opinion here. Should I keep writing that Alliance story, or should I put it on hiatus and try to focus on writing one-shots instead, so as to get a bit more used to this thing. Either way, I'm still going to keep writing, but I'm not sure what I want to work on right now...

Eh, well if you're really concerned about doing it justice, then do some one-shots for practice. Otherwise everyone's first fic is your "lamb to the slaughter" as I like to say. Every reader will always go into it, and will learn they've made a lot of mistakes. Then they pick up the pieces, and start on something else to improve. That's what I did. I had an old HiE called "Fate Game" (it's still around some other sites probably), that was a huge bomb but I learned so much from it! Every failure I had with this, I learned from and Black Box benefited. You could just finish this if it's not that long but one-shots are a good idea.

I think you should keep writing chapters. What I read of your story so far was good except for a couple (easily fixed) spelling errors.

A writing career means you will be making a living by writing. If you don't have very good writing skills, then the best way to learn is by writing stuff you don't intend on publishing first, IE: fanfiction. This is how I started anyway and am currently writing my first book while continuing writing fanfictions on this site. Keep at the writing. It will become easier and unlock hidden talent in time.
