I don't know who I am to be promoting other peoples fanfics, with me having less than twenty followers, but Dark Parable seems like a really nice guy and I doubt he'll mind (if you do I'll take this down).
My opinion on whether or not it matters that there are a lot bad fanfics out there varies a lot. Sometimes I think 'as long as the author is enjoying themselves then where's the harm in it. Quality of artwork is all subjective anyway, especially when there is no for-profit element.' On the other hand, there is the argument that when the market gets flooded with shit it tends to become a little wary of smelling the roses, and I think that is something that has unfairly hampered From the Outside In. It's a human in Equestria story, a Brony in Equestria what's more, and so people roll their eyes and move on, possibly downvoting out of sheer malice.
But From the Outside In is different. It has heart, it has humour (Dark Parable is the best comic writer I've read in fanfiction, and his ability to capture Pinkie Pie's voice is both awe-inspiring and shame-inducing for someone whose Pinkie is such a pale shadow of the real thing), it has had some actual frigging thought go into things like theme and character development. Even though I don't read every update right away it's probably the fic I look forward to updating most on my favourites list.
And it really sucks that I'm the only person who comments on most of the chapters. I know this story has fans because I've looked at its favourites list, but none of them are saying anything. So if you've got time, it isn't a huge fic, please check out From the Outside In, because you won't regret it. And then leave a comment because the author deserves them.
I cannot begin to say how honored I am that you'd take the time to promote me like this. That said if I had to put it to words (kinda funny considering I'm doing that now...) I'd likely say something along the lines of "Ohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh THANK YOU!"
Seriously, you do me an honor I don't feel I deserve, and I cannot thank you enough.
