Their cries echo through the hallways. The cries are so loud they can be heard beyond the hospital grounds. The cries are consistant. They never cease.
"Why isn't Mommy/Daddy waking up?" "Why did my son/daughter have to die?" "Why did the life of my love have to end this way?"
The wording changes for each pony, but the question remains the same. They all ask "Why?"
I find myself asking the same question. Why did this disaster happen? Why is this creature attacking us? Why can't the Guard stop it? Why must so many suffer?
In this line of work, you grow accustomed to death. It's inevitable, and you learn to live with it. But this... I can't deal with this. Thousands have fled here, and even more are on the way. The hospital can't accomodate this many... and it's only going to get worse. I'm on the verge of tears... How did something like this happen?
I listen to the guards as they pass through with more wounded. They say it suddenly appeared outside of Ponyville. They use the buildings around it to judge its size, and say it could be more than three hundred feet tall. They say their spells seem to have no effect on it at all.
I... I...
I hear them paging me. I go to once again jot down a time of death, to treat injuries in vain, or to hold a crying child that has lost both its parents. This may be my last entry for a long time...
