Cloudless Month Promotion · 10:15pm Sep 30th, 2013
Well, Cloudless Month is finally over, and we have a whole selection of new Winningverse stories to peruse over now.
Editing for most stories released during this month was a challenge, especially with how I began university this month. But hey, I wouldn't do this if I didn't like doing this.
Anyway, check out the released stories below. With brief summary and thoughts on it.
The Incredibly Thrilling Investigation of Storm Kicker by Chengar Qordath
Star and Storm Kicker are asked to search for Lyra, who has gone missing during the Summer Sun Celebration.
A fun little story with sibling squabbling and rivalry between Star and Storm Kicker. Despite getting under each other's skin, you can see they still really care for each other and would go to any length to protect each other. A rather heartwarming story.
The Incredibly Trying Performance of Octavia by Ponibius
Octavia is required to collaborate with Vinyl Scratch on a charity concert. She struggles to get their music to blend together, but the artistic challenge will not be the only problem she has to deal with.
I always did love the dynamic between Octavia and Vinyl. And this is one of those rare relationship where they aren't making out by the end of the story. No seriously, this ain't a shipping story.
The Incredibly Conflicted Mind of Pinkie Pie by JakeTheGinger
One would never really expect Pinkie at a funeral, or rather, one would never think it would go well should she attend one. This leads to quite a bit of tension when Rainbow tells Pinkie not to attend Nimbus Gust's funeral.
One of those rare stories where Pinkie is not flanderized. She's still eccentric. She's still hyper (most of the time). But she's not thick nor simple. That, in itself, was worth a lot of points in my book. This is overall well written and worth checking out.
The Incredibly Valuable Contract of a Sellsword Changeling by Comma-Kazie
This One. No, not the story. This One, the changeling mercenary, who replaced Nimbus Gust on a contract with the old Changeling Hive. A story from the viewpoint of an Infiltrator-class Changeling.
Definitely worth a read if you want world-expansion and changeling culture. As well as a very fascinating alien feel to the narration. Also a pretty quick read as well.
The Incredibly Lonely Morning of Blossomforth by Chengar Qordath
Blossomforth wakes up the morning after she lost her virginity, only to find herself alone.
Ah yes, another Blossomforth story. It is always interesting to see things from the other side of the duo, and this story certainly did not disappoint. There's a good balance of emotion and light bit of comedy.
And those are the stories I've worked on with their respective authors.
Not much I can really say without being redundant, or run-on.
So basically, go check out these stories listed above. They're definitely worth a read.
On a different note, progress on my own story is coming along slowly... one issue I have actually is the story description. Gonna try to come up with a better one.
