Alright, got some shit to get off my chest · 10:40pm Oct 18th, 2013
This isn't relevant to pony bound, but I will give an update about it's status at the end of this tirade.
So, I took the psat's the other days. That was the hardest test I ever took in my life. The mathematic section was... damn! Even though I excel in English, the writing section completely fucked me up. I had to read like 3 paragraphs of a story and answer a plethora of questions based on it. Comprehending an article? Not that difficult, but the problem is I only had 25 minutes to complete the section. That mean't I didn't have enough to to go back into the passage incased I skimmed over any important details. No, I had to absorb all the information, which was rife of many words I have never been associated with, in one go.
That's a shame, isn't it? I can only absorb something easily if I'm interested in it, and those stories were piss poor boring. I didn't sleep well either, so I was susceptible to falling asleep during any time. Man, I wish I had because it wasn't worth the effort.
So, I realized the SAT's will be the end of my life if I don't past. Immediately after the test, I hauled my ass to a computer and looked up a couple of test online. The thing that caught my attention the most from one of the practice SAT test, which was an "actual" Sat was the writing section... again! It wasn't as trivial as reading the passages and answering questions, but it was that I had to write a lifetime story of myself in a limited amount of time.
God damn, whoever made this test doesn't play. That seems impossible, but anything is tangible, I guess. I didn't necessarily freak out, but I wanted to see other people's opinions on the college level test.
This fine person told me the SAT's writing section is bullshit. I was like 'Um, of course it is."
But no, he was serious. It didn't come from the frustration of taking a test hard enough to make a rock feel like a nerf ball, but it came from the frustration that the SAT's was deceiving everybody. Everybody!
How? Well, that's easy to explain, but it may be hard for you to believe. Hint hint... the SAT's creators intended the essay section to teach kids how to fabricate a story. In fact, the only things the SAT's is looking for are: Good grammar, intricate word choices, and lies! That's right, they do't care if what you write is authentic, they just want you to sound as professional as you can be.
This write here is sophisticated ignorance at it's best. First of all, lettuce be honest: Not every kid thinks in the most eloquent way possible. Especially when they are conversating. Since the kids are on a limited time, how the hell are they gonna finish the section while stopping every second to think of the biggest word they can ponder. What's the chance that they take too long thinking of a 'fake' story to write?! Hey Mr.Sat, writing is a process you moron. You can't make shit up and expect it to be great. While a story that is real will have emotion and atmosphere, like it's totally repeatable.
Besides those problems, this plan was flawed from the start. This test is supposed to prepare you for college, which will prepare you for life. How are you gonna succeed in a job interview if you don't know to summarize your life from the top of your head. It's ironic how the board of ed urges kids to get the best education when they are getting kids to believe writing from the 'brain' is more affective than the 'heart'.
Fuck you Sat's, and fuck you board of education. If I don't go to college, then I'm gonna file some charges! I mean it! There goes my rant...
As for pony bound, next chapter is almost done and will soon be in the process of editing. :D
Hugs?
Wow, thanks for the info. Not looking forward to when I have to take them. What sections are there other than Math and English?
I know I didn't do anything particularly well in my SATs, but still I got into college. You'll be fine Shortcakes.
As for Pony Bound, I wonder, where is the story going? I've read bits and pieces, so from what I can tell the story seems to be moving away from the personal 1st person view of Shawn to other characters.
The beginning intro of becoming a pony and these ambiguous hints of conspicuous background events was what got me into you story.

I would need that...

It's only those two I believe. Well, the essay section is separate from the regular writing section, so it's basically English and math.

I hope so. And you will have to fine out where pony bound is going, but to answer your questions, I'm trying to flesh other characters personality out more. Especially Kaise and Jessica, mainly to show how they are dealing with their changes.
1436150 *Hugs tightly* It's you can talk to me if you want to
Oh sweet, more Kaise and Jessica.
