On Pinkie Pie

I'm late in reblogging this (I read it on my phone at work and then got distracted), but a conversation tonight about Pinkie Pie brought it back to my mind.

I find a few points are a little far out there, but by and large, there are some very good arguments there about Pinkie's personality.

A little out there?! HOW DARE YOU?!

Actually, my Pinkie theory is pretty out there, but like I said, it's just a device that gives me a rationale for her "alien-ness". Otherwise, she's just blatant comedy for the sake of comedy, and I generally dislike that unless it's absurdist.

The important thing is that it never needs to be referred to or written about. It's just a bizarre truth that influences the events in my stories without any of the participants being aware of it.
