Sneak Peeks And News! · 5:21pm Dec 5th, 2013
Hey, everyone that even cares to read this random blog post, especially considering the number of them I've already recently made.
But, this is special. I got my PC's internet working again, and I am now officially back in business!
Also, as promised, a little sneak peek of my action fic, an entire fight I might add. One of the ten.
First, a little explaining of the situation: The story in the fic is that the ten strongest dragon fighters, about pony sized but bipedal so they seem larger, are doing their final duel against Celestia. Therefor, she knew that she wouldn't be able to take on all ten dragons on her own, or even with Luna's help, so Celestia took the Elements of Harmony two at a time and trained them for three months each, give or take a week. With ample time to grow stronger throughout the year, Celestia takes the Elements of Harmony to the battle with her.
On the side, what the Elements didn't know, was that Shining Armor and Big Macintosh also were trained personally by Luna for the entire year straight. They came to help, and the rest will be explained in detail in the fic itself.
Another thing to mention is the Sun Step that you will see, and I already have a report, made by Twilight, of what it is and how it works.
The “Sun Step” is a movement technique used by the Royal Ten, which allows a brief state of movement that’s faster than the naked eye can register. While this movement is impressive, it only lasts for a small moment before the speed is reduced due to the wind resistance and G-force.
The agility and speed of “Sun Step” can be enhanced or improved through concentration, training and eventual mastery of it. As speed is the main point of the technique, the method is best characterized by how fast one can get from point “A” to point “B” in the least amount of steps.
Training and skill are what determines how fast a user of “Sun Step” can move, those of little skill in the technique have difficulty moving faster than the eye can see, but can still move faster than usual.
Through studies, binoculars, Applejack, Pinkie, Macintosh and charts, I’ve come to determine that “Sun Step” is best used at short range, and prolonged use of “Sun Step” or the attempt at going at high speeds for an extended period of time can lead to cases ranging from physical harm to absolute exhaustion.
Pinkie Pie was given the title “Flash Step” for being the fastest user of “Sun Step” in Equestria through recorded speed tests.
With all this info in store: I give you Big Macintosh vs. Theredes, both equal in strength.
FIGHT!
“Hm.” Theredes hummed, grabbing Macintosh’s attention, stopping as he decided they’d gone far enough.
“Fight? Here?” Macintosh asked, eyebrow rising as he took a look at his surroundings, seeing nothing but dirt and rocks around them.
“Mh.” Theredes nodded, humming once again to answer.
“Alright then, Ah suppose this’d be fine. Let’s get to it.” Macintosh stayed in position, never faltering before the massive – compared to the others – dragon before him. He had to admit, the dragon’s size was impressive, far bigger than himself.
“Hmm.” The dragon hummed once more, raising his left fist into the air, warning of a punch. Macintosh simply smiled and readied himself. The dragon’s fist came down quickly, much faster than Macintosh expected, but all the same, he dodged the attack exactly as he had wanted to.
The dragon’s fist appeared to have passed right through his head. However, as much as he may have wished, it didn’t fool the dragon one bit. “Speed impressive.” The dragon raised both fists into the air. “Dodge.” His fists came down in a flurry, and it was like trying to dodge hoof-sized rain.
Something Luna had trained him to do.
While Luna’s attack was unpredictable, every strike the dragon made could be seen long enough for him to know where it would land, so he was easily able to dodge. The dragon’s leg rose and made contact with Macintosh’s chest, making him exhale harshly and fly backwards from the strength of impact. He crashed back-first on a rock face, and before he could even move, Theredes was above him once more, throwing punch after punch mercilessly, each hit landing and pummeling Macintosh into the rock.
After a moment, Macintosh raised one of his hooves, blocking a punch with his own. Macintosh’s hooves and Theredes’ fists pushed against each other, shaking in their battle to overpower the other. Macintosh took this chance to do what Theredes did against him, and kicked with both his hind legs onto Theredes’ chest, knocking him into the air.
Macintosh used Sun Step to jump above him, flipping in the air to give him extra strength through momentum as he kicked down onto Theredes’ face, pushing him back down faster than he had gone up. Theredes landed hard on the ground, shoulder first, making a dent in the earth as Macintosh landed soundly a good distance away.
“You’re strong, no doubt. You’re just not strong enough. You’re just all bark and no bite, ain’t ya?” Macintosh started walking to where Theredes lay still, until he stopped as Theredes let out a roar that shook the air around him.
As he rose, Macintosh could see his scales shifting, his arms growing larger. “Bigger arms don’t mean better str-“ Macintosh was forcefully shut up as a fist impacted his face faster than he could even comprehend what happened. Flying through the air with a small blood trail from his nose and mouth, he tried to regain control.
As he righted himself in the air, Theredes’ fist came down on him hard, forcing him down and to the ground, just as he had done to Theredes moments ago. However, he landed on his hooves, looking up at Theredes with an iron stare.
“So that’s how ya wanna play.” Macintosh smiled and jumped into the air to meet him, hind hoof coming in contact with Theredes’ fist once more before he pushed himself away. They fell to the ground before launching at each other again, fist and hoof, but before Macintosh could pull his hooves away, they were grabbed by the dragon’s hands.
Theredes pulled Macintosh towards him and used his knee to kick against his stomach, making him cough up blood and other fluids. When Theredes lifted him up again to repeat the process, Macintosh righted himself in his grip and gave a solid kick to his chin, knocking him back and loosening his grip. As soon as Macintosh landed, he lunged forward and planted both his fore-hooves on Theredes’ chest, nearly knocking him back, but he held his ground.
“Wrong move,” Macintosh thought to himself as he spun himself in the air, giving a solid roundhouse kick to his stomach, forcing the dragon backwards at high speeds as blood escaped his lips. Theredes flipped himself backwards and roared, sliding to a stop on his feet, and soon after, launched himself back at Macintosh without hesitation or fear.
Macintosh prepared himself as best he could as Theredes rushed to him mercilessly. When he arrived, he blocked his fist with his hoof and spun himself around to kick him down again, but his other hand blocked his hind leg. Macintosh closed his eyes as he was swung behind Theredes, crashing hard into the ground shortly after, only to be picked up again and smashed against the ground once more like a rag-doll.
Before he could repeat the process again, Macintosh used Sun Step to escape his grip and get distance from Theredes. “Ya wanna play rough…” Macintosh glared down at Theredes, his eyes conveying nothing but a merciless intention of revenge. “We’ll play rough.”
Macintosh propped himself onto his hind legs and splayed his forelegs out, and the earth swallowed his hind legs as rock surrounded them, and his forelegs punched into the ground, just as easily swallowed as his hind legs.
When he pulled his fore-hooves out from the ground, he brought out a rock formation that stuck to his skin like armor, in the shape of a fist. His height was increased as he jumped out from the earth, an extension of his hooves being made from solid, compressed rock. While Theredes stared, eyes wide, Macintosh Sun Stepped in-front of him and gave a solid punch to his chest, knocking him back instantly. Not stopping the attack there, he Sun Stepped again to meet with Theredes, and as he righted himself, Macintosh kicked him up into the air, staying on the offense.
Theredes roared in pain and anger as he spun in the air, turning to face where Macintosh was, only to find nothing. He looked around for a moment before he turned up to the sky to see Big Macintosh’s stone hooves crashing down, sending him plummeting down to the earth like a meteor, leaving a sizable crater as he landed back-first.
Macintosh threw his stone appendages down to where Theredes landed, each one contacting the end of his limbs and driving them into the ground, leaving them immobile. While Theredes was thrashing around trying to get loose, Macintosh landed mercilessly on-top of him, two hooves on his chest and two on his stomach.
Theredes lost his breath instantly, coughing up blood and vomit as he lay immobile for just a moment before he yelled and pulled his arms free, instantly grabbing the rock arms that were once used against him and shattering them against Big Macintosh’s head. Dazed and nearly unconscious from the blow, he stepped back, trying to shake it away. Giving up on the thought, he simply grits his teeth together, closing his eyes and holding his head with one of his fore-hooves.
Theredes roared and used strength and momentum in his arms to punt Macintosh directly up into the air, then followed him all the way up until Macintosh looked up at him; eyes squinted from the light of the sun.
The dragon’s hands clasped each other and rose above his head, then crashed down harder than ever before onto Macintosh’s back, slamming him down into the ground below him, making a crater larger than what Theredes had.
Macintosh took the moment of silence to relax and clear his head before he rose up slowly, power surging through him. He released a breath as his body rose. He held up a single hoof and raised it above his head, stopping Theredes in his tracks on his way down to finish Macintosh off.
Pushing Theredes off of him effortlessly, he clearly terrified the dragon with his next thundering words. “Ah’ve had right enough o’ your games!” Macintosh Sun Stepped above Theredes nearly instantly, then kicked him down into the ground, making them switch places. Macintosh sunk one of his forehooves into the ground and gathered a rock formation in a hoof the size of a tree. Macintosh Sun Stepped away once again, landing high against a mountain, then jumping off the mountain face to where Theredes was.
From his height, all the weight of the rock would be pushing down on where Theredes stood. He simply roared and braced himself, ready to fight off the attack. Macintosh pushed his hoof forward as he came close, putting every last bit of strength he had into the attack. Theredes dug his feet into the ground as hard as he could to fend off the force, but quickly fell backwards and became engulfed in the rock.
Macintosh stepped up to where Theredes would be, only to find nothing but rock. “Ya put up a good fight, Ah’ll be honest.” Macintosh said, wiping the blood from his mouth and walking a good distance away from the defeated dragon before sitting down to rest and looking around at the others that were fighting.
So yes, expect great things to come from this, as this is just one small fight in the fic.
Tell me what you think!
