Chapter 6 is about halfway done.
I think.
This is the first part of the book that has undergone significant changes, edits, and re-writes even before I've finished a single draft. I lot of the initial concepts that I planned on including have been changing. Sometimes as soon as I'm done writing a scene I'll decide to cut it or change it around completely. The last two scenes I've spent this week working on I'm essentially redoing, and I've already cut about 5k words out of the chapter entirely. Usually I hate wasting my time like that, but each cut, each tweak, I've felt hasn't been done arbitrarily out of shame, but rather as an attempt to focus the narrative and solidify the characterization of Rhyme and Scootaloo, which is the crux of this entire story, so nailing that down is kind of important.
This is the climax of the story. The payoff to nearly fifty thousand words of buildup. I won't settle for anything less than perfection.
So wait for me a little while longer, will you? ^_^
I can wait. Just make it awesome, that's all I ask.
You already know my stances on this Tom. I'm sure it's all gonna turn out awesome.
WE WAIT
You can't rust a good story we can wait Tommy.
In Tommy we trust (to make a good story that is).
I have faith in you Tommy
Make it as awesome and interesting as one of (or heck, all of) my own fics.
