Holiday Left-overs... Wrappers, and Miles of Road. · 5:43pm Dec 27th, 2013
It's been a rather eventful past twelve days. I caught a nasty cold on the 16th, and spent three days drinking DayQuil and eating Tylenol because I had to make a trip north with my wife to visit her family; and a ten hour trip while running a fever just isn't very holly or jolly.
I get over the cold enough to travel, and we do the whole yule tide thing, and spend days opening presents, surrounded by nephews, nieces, in-laws, friends and tons of food. Things would have been fine, but somewhere in there we had to go take in a double feature of It's a Wonderful Life and A Christmas Carol, so we were out tromping through snow and ice and below freezing weather to go see the musicals, and then (maybe because of this) on Christmas Eve I had a relapse, and my fever came back with a vengeance.
So, rather than infect the old people, I stayed in a hotel; drinking NyQuil this time, and thrashing about in the hotel bed dreaming of things that are best left to a horror novel.
Somewhere in amongst all this chaos, I was able to write a chapter for an upcoming crime novel, and get some fan fiction thoughts jotted down. But sadly, I was not able to do much in the way of socializing via the internet. So if you missed me, then sorry. It's been a busy week.
I'm home now, I have gifts, and new retro t-shirts, and another five pounds of taffy to last me through the completion of another novel.
Hope everyone had a good holiday season. If you don't celebrate... well, then I hope at least you had a good week, and nothing odd or bad happened that couldn't happen to you later on. Happy Christmas, Merry Jesus Day, and better New Year!
