I thought that giving Pinkie Pie healing ability is something new and unique. Then I found this beautifully written fiction:
In this story, the events of the first two episodes result that the Elements of Harmony half-fuse with their bearers. This results that over time, they start to develop awesome superpowers. Guess what's Pinkie's second ability...
Now, at one hand, I'm happy I found this fiction, as I was looking for such a thing for years. It's extremely well written, exciting, the OCs are well developed and likeable, the amount of world-building is immense. I seriously can't stop reading it!
On the other hand, I feel kinda sad, that my "unique idea" is not so unique anymore.
So will I stop writing the sequel? No!
I'll instead read the whole The Powers of Harmony, to know what road has already been taken, then write a story which still feels new, even to the ones who have read The Powers of Harmony
Major differences so far:
-My story will be centered around Pinkie Pie, not the whole main six
-Pinkie's healing ability in my story will be a lot more than just healing living creatures. Her ability will be a combination of healing and of Green Lattern's
-My story'll be overall more sad. (I don't think I can truly compete with the "Don't Die" scene of Apple Bloom and Applejack at the cemetery, so I'll rather aim to be overall more sad. )
-My story will not be as well written Uhm... I mean... I'll publish slower than CyborgSamurai, to compensate my weaker skills with time invested into the fic.
By the way, the writing might take some time as the combination of being a programmer and an enthusiastic writer resulted pain in my hands. It even hurts to type this in now.
In "The Powers of Harmony" can pinkie just heal others, or can she heal herself? Also, how powerful is the healing ability?
1963852 I'm at Chapter 18, but I still don't know. The author really takes his time, does awesome world-building and makes a heart-touching/exciting chapter for almost every single ability reveal. It's a long journey, but worth it.
I'm kinda worried to continue reading, as the fiction is on hiatus at Chapter 29, thanks to a horrible illness the author had. He's recovered recently and is about to continue it, but I still don't like waiting for chapters.
