My thoughts on the movie "Frozen".... · 3:15pm Mar 21st, 2014

So, I finally decided to watch Frozen....

I've been subconsciously avoiding the movie because of how insanely hyped it's been all over the internet. When that happens, it usually turns me off from wanting to pursue. "ITS DEH REVIVL UV DIDNEY!" Like, come on. :trixieshiftleft: No love for Princess and the Frog, I guess....

And since the movie got on the fucking NEWS today just for coming out on DVD, fuck all mighty did that make me want to watch just to see what the fucking deal was over this one little movie...

And.... I now can kiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinda understand the hype. It was a good movie, not quite as good as everyone was making it out to be, but pretty worth the watch.

Was a little weird how Elsa, the main character (debatably), was barely in the movie compared to her sister, but considering how in the movie she'd been kept hidden through most of her life, it kinda makes sense. I honestly felt for and liked her character. She'd been raised not to feel anything, and lived by the rule herself to keep people safe from her. Sound a little familiar to anyone who reads Remorse? :ajsmug:

Moving on a bit, the song the movie's known for and everyone probably knows by now, "Let It Go", is really annoying to hear all the damn time, especially when it's only the chorus. But in full song and context, it's a pretty damn good song, and months of hearing the chorus jammed down my throat didn't ruin it for me. T'was basically a song about being yourself when you felt you never could. I also heard a parody version staring Luna before I watched the movie, and it fit pretty nicely there too.

The visuals were pretty nice to look at as well, especially when it came to the ice powers.

Elsa and Christophe were my favorite characters in the film, since they were both pretty similar. I actually thought those two would be the couple before the subplot romance kicked it with Anna, but what can ya do. I rolled my eyes a bit at Anna's first "love at first sight", but the movie surprisingly fooled me wrong. And I thought there was a slim chance Olaf would ruin the movie for me, but I honestly didn't mind him.

It had it's corny moments, but also had a good amount of moments that made me laugh and smile. A little too many songs, but none I'd say were annoying.

All in all, I give it a 8.5 outta 10. I think that's pretty fair.
