… you no longer fast-forward through the theme song.

… you type 'f' and your browser fills in 'imfiction.net'.

… you think, "That would make a great pony name!" more often than you think "That would make a great band name!"

… you rewind to hear the theme song again.

BONUS: ... and sing along.

… people PM you on fimfiction instead of sending you email, because you reply faster.

… you consistently read "House" as "Horse".

… you type 'f' and your browser fills in 'imfiction.net'.

There is too much truth to this one.

Some of these may also apply to anime weeaboos.

You mean some people don't sing along????

… you wonder why Obama isn't wearing her tiara.

Michelle needs a tiara.

I find that whenever I hear or read the word "Camelot", my brain always goes, "Wait, don't you mean Canterlo- Wait, never mind." :derpytongue2:

Am I the only one who never disliked the theme? When I first tried watching MLP:FIM I stopped half way through the second episode (which I still think is pretty bad) and didn't come back to it for a year and as I was closing the youtube window the only thing in my mind was "at least the opening was catchy".

...you say "buck" instead of "fuck" in a non-ironic way.

...you obliquely reference the show the way others reference Breaking Bad or 80's movies.

...normal porn kind of weirds you out- not because it's porn, but because it's not clop.

...you think that girl who works the register at the carniceria is cute because she reminds you just a little bit of Twilight Sparkle.

...you don't ask her out because, let's face it, she's no Twilight Sparkle.

From one Quill to another, I had a discussion about Arthurian legend a few weeks ago that involved this problem. I was speaking at the time. I don't know how many times I said it wrong before I noticed. At which point, cue a serious struggle to remember the "proper" name. I succeeded only because I remembered "it had something to do with camels".

you think, "That would make a great pony name!" more often than you think "That would make a great band name!"

I have never, not once in my life, had the thought "That would make a great band name."

- I sometimes catch myself ponifying words before I can say them out loud. Somepony. Anypony. Everypony...

… you type 'f' and your browser fills in 'imfiction.net'.

I just checked, I qualify for this and as a bonus, typing just a 'd' autofills with derpibooru.

… you refer to yourself and your s/o other collectively, by your ship name.

… your friends refer to you and your s/o collectively, by your ship name.

… because they are all bronies.

I may or may not be the 'friend' referring to others that way.

2195657 That's going on the list. :pinkiehappy:

2195599
I've actually become more likely to skip the theme over time, because I went more-or-less directly from this to having heard it too much.

What, no asking what the other mane six or the princesses would do? Are they not role models?

… you consistently read "House" as "Horse".

I suppose it's better than being called Bad House.

... you think, "Tolstoy? Which ship is that?"

That would require two OCs: Bell Tolls and Toy Box

2195594 Same thing for 'Manhattan' which is worse, because I *work* in Manhattan.

2195699

Tolstoy? Ewww. Toy Box and Bell Tolls so weren't made for each other. It's obvious that Bell Tolls should be with Blood Muffin, and Toy Box should be with Wooly Thinker. :pinkiecrazy: Bellmuff and Woolybox forever!

... you think light blue is one of the colors of the rainbow.

Technically, RYGCBM is a better representation of the light spectrum we see in a rainbow than ROYGBIV.

This reminds me of a discussion I had recently about internet usernames vs. real life names. Quite a few of the conversants said they would rather be able to use their self-chosen username in real-life casual occasions than their real names. "John Doe" just isn't as fun or unique as "catmeme9000". Basically, the group of us had too much internet. I'm sure there are some unfortunate children who didn't get to choose to be stuck with a few extra unpronounceable symbols in their names. Still, I'm curious how future!Equestria's more lax naming conventions would change with the prevalence of the internet...

2195698

... you ask "What would Rainbow Dash do?" instead of "What would Batman do?"

2195741 eh, Orange is pretty distinctive in most spectrum scatters. It's indigo (now blue) that isn't really distinct from cyan and violet. Violet vs magenta is debatable but I'm still sticking with violet. Thus ROYGCV.

2195553 meeeeh. F is fimfic, t is thatguywiththeglasses, g is google, n is netflix...

2195594
I actually forgot the word Camelot for a while. Heh. Camel-lot. Wait....

I find it incredibly difficult to type the work "pink" without muscle memory immediately adding "ie".

2195773 Either way, light blue is still technically a color of the rainbow.

2195741 Hmm, you're right. It's just hard to notice sky blue against a blue sky.

How about: When you're in the store and you see a flash of pink out of the corner of your eye you immediately think, "Pony?!".

... you think light blue is one of the colors of the rainbow.

You would laugh, but in russian light blue actually is one of the "official" seven colours of the rainbow.
Assuming I am not somehow mistranslating "light blue", of course - several dictionaries I have disagree in describing what colours "light blue", "blue", "dark blue" and "indigo" actually are, but wikipedia at least agrees that light blue is what I think it is. =/

I'd say something critical or sarcastic, but halfway through your post, the theme song came up in my playlist and I sang along to it.
In a library.

BONUS: You tackle major life problems by asking, "What would Pinkie Pie do?"

... your co-workers look at you funny, and you realize you just said "anypony" instead of "anybody".

One time, early on in my bronydom, I attempted to quote Monty Python and the Holy Grail, but mistakenly said, "Canterlot! It's only a model." My co-workers were not amused.

Uhhhhhh, most of this applies to me.

… you type 'f' and your browser fills in 'imfiction.net'.

Guilty as charged! :rainbowlaugh:

… you no longer fast-forward through the theme song.

Everytime me n my brother watch, I tell him to let the theme song play. Most of the time he's like, "No, fuck you." And then he fast-forwards.

you think, "That would make a great pony name!" more often than you think "That would make a great band name!"

How about fictional bands, like Mystic Spiral? I bet the pony Mystic Spiral would be thinking of changing her name.

... you think, "Tolstoy? Which ship is that?"

I was thinking, "Toy Story? What does Toy Story have to do with shipping? Oh wait. Bullseye and Jessie."

… you like wearing shoes that clop when you walk.

"Like" is an understatement. And I like shoes that clomp. Steel toe shoes are good for this.

… you consistently read "House" as "Horse".

I think everybrony should read this then, if that's the case. It is about Dr. House. You know. Hugh Laurie.

And it's also by Hans von Hozel lolololololollololoololololololol!!!!!!!!!!!1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BONUS: You tackle major life problems by asking, "What would Pinkie Pie do?"

I would be a Stealing Stealerson and steal your blog idea, BH :) There's not nearly enough obscenity, sex, and awkwardness on this list to fit my tastes.

Yeah, I am actually going to jack your blog topic.

2195553
And typing "e" nets you "questriadaily"

2195559
What I have to say to this.

You left off:

...when someone learns a life lesson, you encourage them to write a letter to Princess Celestia.

Which I have done before. The person was not amused.

As far as my personal victimhood goes...

The color thing is borderline, and also not actually pony related - I actually think it is crayon related, as my parents long ago bought me one of those giant boxes of crayons with a ton of colors, and those colors have stuck with me.

2195742
I actually respond to "TD", "Titan", "Titanium", and "Dragon" when spoken out loud.

...I actually call myself TD and "Dragon" in my head.

2195717

I once offer a guest at a restaurant Manehatten Clam Chowder.

:twilightblush:

Hap

Nope.

Nope.

Ummm... ctrl+t... f... DAMMIT!

And I'll have you know, me and my wife's ship name was first slurred at a wedding eight years ago, by her brother's wife's drunk cousin. It cannot, in fact, be pronounced when sober.

I refuse to comment on the rest.

… you rewind to hear the theme song again.
BONUS: ... and sing along.

Does launching MyLittleKaraoke for a little pony song session count? If so, guilty as charged :pinkiehappy:
(I can, and actually do, sing along nearly every official pony song without the need to read the lyrics, even things like the Goof Off :raritywink:)
(But then, I do so also with Disney and Anime songs. People around me are often not amused :trollestia:)

… you type 'f' and your browser fills in 'imfiction.net'.

No need. <Ctrl>T brings a new tab with my most used sites listed at the top. FIMFiction and EQD are the first ones :scootangel:

... your co-workers look at you funny, and you realize you just said "anypony" instead of "anybody".

Nnope
You see, I only watch Ponies in English, but English is not my native language, so I don't use ponywords in everyday speech; I don't even know what those ponywords would be in my language.

On the other hoof, after a few close calls I now do a search for "pony" and "hoof" whenever I write anything in English that is not supposed to be about ponies :scootangel:

... you tackle major life problems by asking, "What would Twilight Sparkle do?"

What, you mean normal people don't? :twilightoops:
(In all seriousness, Twilight's personality flaws and insecurities, specially in the first three seasons, are a really good match for my own. I already acted like her before I ever knew about the show. Hey, I ever slept in the mix of library with bedroom depicted in my avatar for a while :twilightsheepish:)

DOUBLE BONUS: You're trying to remember what s/o means.

I had to google it; I'm more familiar with OTP :facehoof:
(Though, again, this is in part due to English not being my native language. Still, I learned about OTP before s/o :scootangel:)

All the bolded options are ones that are true for me.

Could do with more!

I think I once said The Games We Play (by AbsoluteAnonymous) instead of The Things They Carried (by Tim O'Brien). Kind of awkward, since the people I was talking to would have no idea what the former is.

I wish :raritycry:

I like the way you think, Bad House.

checked browser, finishes fitloop.co
....

I'll watch Season 4... one day.

You know you may have left the fandom if:

1. You browse fimfiction.net only to update yourself on the blogs of the more philosophically inclined members, or to see discussions between biostatisticians. Or military servicemen.

The stories you enjoyed in the past have new chapters! But you'll read them later....
One of your favorite authors have taken down their stories! You downloaded them quickly, but didn't think that perhaps other stories would disappear soon enough...

2. You join reddit, but don't add /r/mylittlepony

2195644

Ya know, that could actually be a cool band name.

2195782
Wait, you actually type that stuff? Go bookmark them. Do it now!

2196844 Why? it's faster to just type "f" and have it fill in.

You enter "e" or "f" in your address bar and don't get equestriadaily.com and fimfiction.net . . . because you never need to search for them, since you always have them open.

2196864

That takes a minimum of one keystroke and three mouse clicks. If you put a bookmark on your tool bar, it only takes one mouse click. If you use a folder, you can open Fimfiction and EqD at the same time with just one click. I don't care how quick your fingers are, that's at least 200% faster.:rainbowdetermined2:

2195553 It didn't take long for google chrome to switch from defaulting to "Facebook.com" to "Fimfiction.net"

… you type 'f' and your browser fills in 'imfiction.net'.

On three different devices.

… you rewind to hear the theme song again.
BONUS: ... and sing along.

SPark and I use the MLP soundtrack as a singalong on road trips. Got to remember to pick up S4's songs before the trip to Everfree.

... you tackle major life problems by asking, "What would Twilight Sparkle do?"

Everypony gets a turn in that question, depending on the situation, but Celestia is my default. Then again, I have the kind of longstanding fixation with benevolent god characters that prompts, "Tell me about your fazzer, zen."

2196949
Mine open when I start the browser. My browsers are set to open the last session when starting, and I don't think I've closed the FIMFiction tab (and the EQD one) in, like, half a year :scootangel:

Part of why I tend to answer to FIMFiction messages faster than to emails too :twilightsheepish:

2196949 F - > Enter
