The Most Dangerous Game contest entry due June 27. · 5:38am Jun 13th, 2014

Well, I’ve decided to throw my hat into the ring for The Most Dangerous Game Contest, and in typical Georg fashion, the first concept I came up with seemed like it was going to spiral out of control and result in a 50k word novel. So Changelings, Love and Lollipops is going back on the shelf until I can give it some attention with a pair of hedge shears.

After a little more thinking, I came up with this idea:

The Young Filly and the Sea

Once upon a time, there was a very young filly named Twilight Sparkle who went to the beach and met a very young colt named Rex.

They played in the sand, looking for sea shells and making sand castles all day long.

And found something neither of them expected.

And before you ask, it’s G rated, and no, that's not Green Grass. I seem to be stuck on green ponies lately. Hm...

I’ve got just a shade under two weeks to polish this sapphirina copepod into a Sea Sapphire, so if anybody wants to chip in a few comments or suggestions, I’d be grateful. Just click on the link to the Gdoc above and try to be gentle with me.

P.S. I need to take a cover of The Old Man and the Sea and do a little constructive editing for this too, so if anybody feels an irresistible urge to do that…

Eh, there aren't nearly enough green ponies in canon. I honestly can't think of one that's had a speaking role. Maybe it's like golf tees; ponies can't be green or they'll fade into the background.

In any case, looking forward to the end result. I don't really have much to suggest on that front, but I'm sure it will be adorkable.

You're going to win. It's inevitable.

Granny Smith
Merry May also gets to speak one line in Griffon the Brush Off.
Edit: Also Applesauce in Apple Family Reunion. Lightning Dust, Peachy Pitt (the banner vendor in Pinkie Pride), and Claude (the puppeteer in Inspiration Manifestation) might also qualify, depending on what you consider green. There are other green background ponies that speak single lines, such as Apple Dumpling, Slipstream, and Green Daze.

I don't remember any other green ponies speaking, though.

There are few background ponies that are green; there are a few in the Apple Family, and depending on whether you consider Aquamarine a shade of green, there's Lyra and a few others of a similar shade.

Now, if you think about green mane, there are a lot more, including a few with speaking roles like Ms Peachbottom. I believe nearly a third of the Apple family has green mane :ajsmug:

That sounds like a comedy story. Granny Smith and AJ are walking through Ponyville when GS suddenly starts to lose corporeality. Naturally, AJ is concerned. She then notices that everypony that is green is also disappearing. Rainbow Dash even loses part of her mane and tail. Turns out, Rarity was right about the color green.
It practically writes itself!
