Why I wrote that terrible story. · 7:10pm Oct 19th, 2014
I wrote that terrible story to prove to myself that if I try and write while I have writers block it will not turn out well. Nothing more then that. If you didn't read it then you were one of the lucky ones. I took it down because personally I didn't want on my story list, and yes...
IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE BAD THAT WAS THE WHOLE POINT OF IT.
Anyway this severs as a reminder, I am struggling with writing Dead currently. I can't seem to get any decent ideas down that would work with the current story. I will put it on hold and get back to it when I have some fresh ideas.
While it wasn't a bad story, there definitely could've been improvement, and it was fairly obvious you hadn't really planned the plot based on how you wrote it (and the speed at which you did so).
You could rewrite the story while keeping the concept, if you think up an end goal that can be the story's end.

I did consider rewriting it, just with less Mary Sue going on in it. The ironic thing was that I did have some idea for what I was doing, I just decided to see how corny I could have made it.
2560156 There was a noticeable lack of objective, for lack if a better term. Not one with a satisfying end, at least.

Yep, there was definitely a lack of uhhh.... A good story?
2560177 I suggest a rewrite with a pre-reader. And cutting out the five-way love triangle. You could also substitute ditzy with another bg pony – Derpy is rather overused. Go for something different.
Keep a plot objective in mind if you do so, and write so it fits.

I get the feeling we are talking about two different stories... A while back, I made a story that was just... Terrible. it was a one shot and I shortly took it down after publishing it.

Yep, But I will admit that a few bits in Dead in Civilization were a bit rushed. And a few novice writing issues kept showing up. Hence why I have paused it. I will most likely re-write OR continue it when I have gotten better at writing.
