So, things regarding the sequel are going a bit slowly, because chapter 1 is always the hardest to get into. This is especially true when you are trying to get into the mindset of a child for writing. Yeah, it's slow, but on the plus side, I bring a peace offering.
Yep! That's right, our new protagonist by the name Moonflower.
I suppose a bit more about the story is in order, since you've all been so good. Homecoming is going to be a slice of life story about a six or seven year old filly [you heard right, because the concept of reincarnation doesn't determine sex
] who, after a move, begins having feelings and dreams she does not understand. More to the point, it's a story about a little pony who has to deal with the realization that she was someone else once, especially when she begins meeting ponies she may or may not have met in her past life.
That seems interesting, who drew that by the way?
Getting into the mindset of a child can be hard at times, but it also really depends on what you're going for. I tend to enjoy the rogue child who is on their own, in which case is entirely different from writing about a child with a proper home and family. I should really experiment with the latter at some point, anyway good luck!
3022226 Huh, never got a notification about your response. Anyways, the Moonflower image was a tweak I did of another vector trace I'd made in the past; body and mane were already done. Pretty much all I did for that particular image was tweak some colors put in some eyes [in the original vector they were shut], do the wings, and remake the ear to be tufty. I'm particularly proud of the eyes though.
But yeah, she does have a proper home/family, albeit when her mum's a batpony too... she's more crepuscular than diurnal or nocturnal in order to get equal time with both parents. Not that it's going to be a particularly big feature in the story.
This isn't quite what I first thought when you essentially said "reincarnated filly who begins having glimmers of her old life" in your post.

Well, knowing you, I was half expecting a red unicorn filly with blonde mane and tail. Because that would be a messed up 'post-resurrection' story.
