(Spoilers)
Daw, good seeing some redemption for Gilda! I liked how much of a run-down shithole Griffonstone was too. Naturally, it obliterates my backstory for Gilda, but yeah, I liked that she came from poverty, and had zero idea how to talk to other people. Always imagined G having no family or friends, and being very, very defensive from her childhood.
Totally going to work a baking powder joke into the next chapter.
I really need to watch the episode then... querstion is Griffinstone just a city or the entire Griffin homeland?

I thiiink it's supposed to be the whole Griffon homeland. It had their king and the "golden idol that united a whole species," so, it's probably just supposed to be the entirety of griffondom.
People could probably get away with saying it was just their capital, though, I imagine.
3091090
...capital of the Griffin Kingdoms then, might be able to work it into my headcanon, already got two separate Griffin nations
3091094
Yeah, but the time of the episode, griffons didn't have a king anymore, so you could easily say they'd splintered apart in the generation or so since the king left.

Still could work with it, the Kingdoms broke away from the Griffin Empire... Or could have Griffinstone be in Equestria territory (next to Baltimare) which was a Grffin colony until it was annexed.
So Gilda redeemed herself? And how long before the fandom screams bloody murder?

Heh, yeah, most of the episode she was her usual furious self. I'm kinda curious if people are going to like her more or less after this one.
I was not even remotely expecting Gilda to get another episode, so color ol' Wadey delighted.
Tons of new poses and facial expressions too~

Bro, they went DEEP for the lore in this ep.
Apparently the monster is called Arimaspi, a creature from ancient, Eastern European mythology, specifically the Scythians. From Wikipedia:
>Gold guarding griffins
>Boreas
>Hyperborean Mountains
Seems to be a retelling of sorts, with more stuff on the gryphons

Dude I adored that monster. Just this hulking goat demon thing. So rad.
I had zero idea griffons even had a real-world mythological history beyond "these monsters are half eagle half lion." That is awesome.

Depends on the fan I guess.

Hmm... That would work quite perfectly with my headcanon. I do think of the Griffins, apart from the tropical griffins, being native to the northern mountains ranges.
I personally loved this episode and it's world building. I particularly loved the 'fall from grace' part of the griffon storyline.
