People used to use alts on this site to post stories they did not want associated with their main. This still happens, but a much more annoying trend has taken over in the past year or so. Upvoting, downvoting, ban/block evasion, and spam. I'm amazed that some people are not aware this is completely abusing the ability to make alt accounts. Also sharing accounts; that's just as stupid since it wastes my time having to distinguish who did what on it to make sure only the correct user is banned.
Still funny to me though when they come back from a ban and are all vague when responding to followers about oh why were you banned? and never actually admitting what they did. Wouldn't want to lose face in front of anyone, you might have to make alts to prop up your image and self worth. Oh wait...

I thought it was a common knowledge thing, especially with that abuse of certain people downvoting the crap out of older top-rated stories to help their own stories climb while upvoting their own or a friend's story. Not to mention those who can't say something on their main accounts so they hop on another to dish out what they apparently couldn't say as their main or use one account to 'follow' someone.
I guess with the whole stats thing being introduced, stuff has gotten a little silly with alt accounts. But I don't see a harm, in my opinion anyhow which doesn't amount to much in the grand scheme of things, is shared accounts that are used to post stories with collabs and the like. Though you don't seem too bothered by those, I assume it's still a hassle for when someone does abuse that trust to do something on the site with one. I wonder how often that happens? lol
Enough to warrant a post about it I suppose. xD

If someone decides to share an account then they share responsibility for what the other account users post. Shared accounts is not a supported feature nor recommended. All of the users of that account are the 'correct' user to be banned in my opinion.
I probably should have read your blog before asking you about this, sorry. I always find where the answer was after asking it seems.
But yes losing face sucks. I have solved this though by having no self-worth to begin with.

As for the liking of stories through alts a friend of mine recently did it and confesded to me that he had self confidence issues and I agreed to be with him whenever he needed me because I understand how that feels. In all honesty I forgive him. We're good friends now.

Now if you have bad reputation through out several years or just bad stories and you want to change.... that's when you make an alt... or seeing bad critics on your fictions that's when we should be allowed to at least change if necessary.
