It's the obligatory new year blog post.

And yes, I am posting this at around midnight on new year. I have a nasty cold, so I decided to disobey nurgle's one command and stay home.

    Just for kicks

I'm mucking around with Lulu for a work-related project (very boring stuff) and thought I would do a quality test with something fun.

    Oh shit, words

Or maybe that comma is in the wrong place. I haven't decided yet.

    The odd things

I've just been reading through old comments on my scraps story, after publishing yet another chunk from the ancient cutting room floor. It's remarkable how many of the commenters are still around - but also how many logged off for the last time, soon after making their last comment there.

    But in brighter news

While I'm not making any promises about any particular project here, I am actually writing again. I figure if I write enough of something, some pony words might drop out somewhere along the line as well. You never know. What I'm working on at the moment is essentially a re-write of a story I read a long time ago; an old pulp sci-fi tale, about a spaceship that manages to get lost in the

Bronycon Roundup: Part The Second · 12:34pm Aug 14th, 2015

Delayed due to a delayed bout of con crud.

I am terrible with names. I can't recall why, but I'm pretty sure drugs were involved. Or possibly I was dropped on my head as a child, who knows? I can't list off a billion names of everyone I met at Bronycon like some people can, and apparently I don't have as many photographs as I thought I had on my phone, possibly because I was too busy hanging around quills and sofas and having my photograph taken with other people. Weird experience.

Like that.

Oh but I did meet Parasprite. She kind of sticks in your mind, does our Para, especially when she tried to seduce jake the army guy by leaping on his back. Ear nibbling might have been involved. Why is ear nibbling always involved? I blame the ponies.

I remember the writers' dinner, which went something like this:

Yes I did sit opposite Cold in Gardez because I am a complete and utter fanboy, though I think I managed to pull off a fairly good impression of normality. Picking his brains about writing was cool and he was chill as everyone else said he would be. Which was nice.

I remember people. Cap'n Chryssalid, pascoite, aquaman, Captain Unstoppable, skeeter the lurker (who did lurk), alexstrasza, good old bad horse (who is bad, and that's good), professor plum, bookplayer was there somewhere, csquared, Jmac, morning sun, and of course the adorable ferret and magic mechanical ears. Way, way more people... if I forget your name it's not because I don't think you're memorable. I remember your faces, every one of you, even if many of them were only perceived through an alcoholic haze in the evenings.

I remember how many people turned up for the fanfiction panels, the great atmosphere and the ice water guy. I remember not winning a single hand of Cards against Humanity, which I should probably take as a compliment. I remember lots of hugs. I remember remembering more.

It was nice. I think I'll do it again.

It was definitely good to meet you, even if it was only a few brief seconds :)

Seconded. I felt so damn under-dressed.

I think I'll do it again.

Excellent!

Yay! It was great to meet you, Arch! And I never won a hand, either. :(
