Zero Blogs: Crystal Prep · 2:07am Oct 17th, 2015
Since I've started heading in their direction, I think it's time I addressed Crystal Prep.
Ever since I first saw the synopsis for Friendship Games, I was intrigued by the concept for multiple reasons. First, the fact that Crystal Prep had a rival school would mean more opportunities for antagonists in the EQGverse. Second, the fact that we were getting the Human World equivalent of the Crystal Empire meant possible appearances from Cadance, and Shining Armor.
Another thing I liked was the Shadowbolts. This is what I meant earlier when I said I wanted to see evil versions of the Mane 6. Not like Return of Harmony, where Discord turned them into their opposites, but rather using the positive trait in a negative way. Hope we get to see more of them one day.
Rose: He's stuck on that Psycho Six.
And then there's Sombra. I'm in the same boat as most of the fans when I say that his character (just like Searing) amounted to a massive waste of potential. It's my hope that when he does eventually appear, I can give his character the justice he deserves (again like Searing).
In Spark's original plot line (for those of you who still remember it), Crystal Prep's fire was the catalyst for Human!Twilight's role in the plot. And while I'm downplaying its direct significance in the new timeline, I do plan on evolving the school and its residents to the primary conflict of the Shineverse. Anything connected to it will advance the main plot and be much more serious while the side characters and minor villains will be the secondary, lighthearted plot.
Think of it as the Homeworld Gems in Steven Universe. Other problems may be just as apparent in that world, but the conflict is much more direct and dire when they get involved.
