Why write them in that order?
Cause I mentioned a recent story of mine — No One Goes There — in a forum response, and it features Snips and Snails. And while thinking about how I wrote them, I remembered a fic idea I had a while ago putting the three of them together. And then I realized something.
I write Snips as an ambitious dimwit who's forceful enough to take the lead but has no idea what he's doing.
I write Snails as the one who's nice and a bit slow, but not necessarily stupid, and who just goes along with whatever Snips wants.
And Spike is basically the smart kid who's kind of a pushover, will try to be the voice of reason, and then get dragged along regardless.
Combine the three, and they're basically...
Ha!
Never thought of that.
On day, I really need to use my head canon about Snails' taken being a French chef.
