Not Another Blog Post · 12:52am Nov 23rd, 2015

First off, a brief announcement.

Not Another Pony in Equestria is going to be re-named Not Another One-Shot-Ober.

This probably won't affect anybody in any way, but I'm saying it now so that there isn't confusion when a new fic named Not Another Pony in Equestria finally gets published.

I'm also going to hit it with the 'completed' tag, since October's over. There will be at least one bonus chapter, and maybe a second.

The major reason for the change is to make the Not Another X franchise logical. I do have plans of an Equestria Girls version—I realized I needed to do that after reading Present Perfect's masterful Fast Times at Stinky Sugar. And let's be honest—with the newest movie, we've got a lot more characters to explore.

I got two more ASE certifications yesterday, putting me that much closer to reclaiming my ASE Master Mechanic certification. I almost missed the appointment. I'd scheduled most of them for around noon, but had to schedule this one for nine am. Luckily, I checked my e-mail at eight to verify what time the appointment was; unluckily, the test center is a good 45 minutes from my house, and the weather was starting to get nasty.

On the way back, it was pretty hairy. Felt the van trying to break loose a few times, and most of my stops were ABS stops. Probably time to consider replacing the bald tires on the van. I meant to do it last month, when there was a mail-in rebate, but then we got busy and I forgot.

As a backup plan, though, I can put the snow tires back on the Grand Marquis and drive it when the weather's really terrible. I should probably make sure the brakes still work before I do, though. I think it's been over a year since I actually drove the car on the road.

Sadly, I'm not going to make my goal for Novelember this year. Too many things happened this month, so unless I manage to write something like thirty thousand words over the next week, I'll be a mite short. While that could be do-able, I'm leaving Wednesday for Sunny California™ to visit my brother and his wife in San Diego for Thanksgiving. Doubt I'll have much time to get any actual writing done while I'm gone.

The good news is that I have a bunch of stuff at least half-done, which may well make for an interesting December. Assuming, of course, that things don't go all to hell. Which they probably will.

San Diego!

My aunt lives there, and up until fairly recently we always had Thanksgiving at her place!

But not so much lately...

Still, you're gonna be a lot closer than usual to my area. Weird.

Well, if you happen to be in the area, swing by and wave!

I'm glad at least one person really likes that dumb thing I did. :D And it's not only you, so that's even better! I can't wait to see what you're doing!

Neither can I. It'll be something crazy, I'm sure.

Yeah, there's more than one reason I don't drive my LeBaron in the winter, one of those reasons is no ABS. (I do have technically have ABS for the 'Baron, but it's in a box on a shelf in the back room.) But otherwise I keep all the important bits tip-top on my cars.
