Happy Holidays! · 9:32pm Jan 4th, 2016
So I got a new laptop for Christmas. It's nice. At least, I think its nice. It certainly looks nice, but I don't know for certain because I haven't turned it on yet. Not because I don't want to, mind, but because my family loves me and was hellbent on making sure that my every making moment over the last three weeks was not 'lonesome.'
I love my family, don't get me wrong, but they see me as some kind of antisocial loner. I am not antisocial; in fact, I greatly enjoy all manner of social interactions, but sometimes I like to be alone. This inability to distinguish between an introvert and an eremitic is probably a consequence of me being the only person in my family to exhibit this behavior (lucky me).
I mean seriously, as far as I can tell, I am the only member of my family who genuinely enjoys reading, who doesn't care for sports, and would prefer a dark, windowless basements over a day at the beach.
Ah well, you can't choose your family. I know what they do, they do out of love. Even if it is an inconvenience at times. And that's what spending time with family is all about: inconvenience.
I hope you all had both a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
I feel your pain, dude. That's pretty much how it is with my family, word-for-word.

Glad to know I'm not alone.
I think that if even one other member of my family shared my disposition, it wouldn't be so bad, but alas, the second biggest introvert in the family is my fifteen-year-old cousin, who prefers to spend his free time playing Clash of Clans. But he's also really into Basketball, so they chalk it up to teenage angst.
