According to this Equestria Daily article Brony musician SoaringFlight died a while back in a car accident, and this discovery was only recently brought to light by CommandSpry on his YouTube channel.

The basic details are that he fell asleep while driving, drifted into the lane of a truck, and his car collided with the truck and was completely crushed.

Fortunately, his contributions to the fandom remain on SoundCloud. But he will most certainly be missed.
