Yeah, I'm fucking done. Payday is 100% dead to me, and I can only hope that Overkill goes out of business this year.

I still have the sequel to write.
They just timed this really poorly, in my opinion, as it's only the second DLC since the Crimefest Debacle. They probably had it in the works long before then, and they thought that the community would have a decent enough laugh at it. Problem is, Safes and Drills happened, and the community got extremely pissed over it. Chances are, they couldn't really put the brakes on this one even if they wanted to, so they decided to just brace themselves.
If this was a free update, I think the community would have a very different opinion of it. I do agree that charging for it is outrageous and I won't be buying it unless it's on sale for 90% off or something, but it's not enough to get me to abandon the game entirely when I have a full crew of friends who play it with me, and then some.
I will agree, though. This does not look good for Overkill.
I am pleased that you'll still be writing a sequel to your first story, though. I really enjoyed that one, and I'm eager to see where that story goes next.

This is more than just poor timing, though. Payday has always been a mostly-serious game. Sure, there was some humor, but it was often either from somewhat cheesy lines, or from physics bugs on ragdolls (or players fucking around, which no amount of game design can stop).
This, though, is literally just pandering to the "lol memes" Youtube crowd, which on top of the very bad timing like you said, makes it seem like Overkill is dead set on losing all of their original fans, and replacing them with the crowd that will buy into all their bullshit wholeheartedly, then defend them when they get called out. They know exactly what they're doing to Payday, and they don't care, because they're raking in the money.
I gave up on the game quite some time ago, but I still like the games characters and concepts, its just what Overkill has done the game is that which pisses me off, good to know the sequel will keep on bein made.
