Story updates--where's the next chapter of Sam and Rose? · 2:55am Jan 13th, 2016

Things got delayed!

Source

I'd intended to have Sam and Rose done for y'all last week . . . I think it's plain to see that didn't happen. As it is now, I intend to release the final two chapters concurrently, probably Thursday or Friday.

I'd also intended to have a shiny new fic for you, too. Also last week.

No, it wasn't Princess Celestia is (still) in your Bed.

The longer version is that work picked up with a vengeance. Spent a number of days working over to get as much as we could done, and for all that I'm still behind. How far behind? Well, I just celebrated Christmas with the family last weekend.

I stayed an hour late at work today putting an intake manifold on a Ford with a 3-valve Triton motor. A vacuum hose had come off the back of the intake, and the only way to re-attach it was have arms like Gumby, or pull the whole manifold, stick it on, and then put the manifold back.

The good news is that the vacuum line won't come off again. I glued it on, which is something Ford probably should have thought of.

I also got to do an oil change on a contractor's brand-new F-150 today. There's a shield you've got to remove to get to the oil drain plug and oil filter, and there was so much frozen dirt on top of it it took two of us to lift it back in place. I kind of like working on contractor's trucks, because they'll usually fix whatever I tell them it needs . . . but I generally need to chip off pounds of mud to change anything.

Still, that's better than when I have to work the dairy farmer's truck.

I also got me a new car to replace the Grand Marquis. It's a 2002 Impala with 240k on the ticker, but it was cheap. It also still looks pretty nice.

Incidentally, that pushes the total number of miles on the four cars in my driveway at over a million. The number of cars in my driveway with no collision damage remains at zero.

Besides the aforementioned fics, I also had a Christmas Hearth's Warming fic published as part of a secret santa thing. It's canonical to A Gift From Celestia and CSI/OPP. Once I'm caught up on other projects, I intend to go through and make some edits (my pre-readers don't even know it's a thing), and post it on my account. But if you want to see it before that, it's HERE.

(for what it's worth, that's how I celebrated New Year's Eve—writing ponyfiction)

I'm also rapidly closing in on a milestone: a hundred fics published on this account. That's a lot! Way back when I got started, I couldn't have imagined I would ever reach that number. I'm not sure if I should do something special for my hundredth Biscuit fic, or just have it be whatever happens to come along.

Probably I'll do whatever comes along. I've done a few special fics for special numbers (like #38).

Now, the real question for those of you mathematically inclined . . . will I reach a thousand total chapters soon? Have I already?

I have no idea. I'm too lazy to count them.

That's really all I've got for now. Just wanted y'all to know that I'm still working on stuff.

Oh, and I probably ought to close with a pony picture.

What... you don't like the special extra smelly 'mud'. :rainbowwild:

Why does this seem like its some kind of poke to get me to do something?

At least it's not pig mud. Cow mud smells much nicer.

It totally wasn't (probably).

Looks like I've got a ways to go, then.

Fucking Ford. I been dicking with a Transit for a week or so now. Finally got it done tonight.

I think you should do something special. I've no idea what, but something special.

Except that hamsters are burrowing animals, and their excrement are small hard pellets, so, assuming they have some area inside that thing where they can indeed indulge in their digging instincts, it's much more likely to be just dirt :trixieshiftright:

...Imma go ahead and post that on the other blog now, I guess :rainbowwild:

(moves hand as if it is a puppet mouth) Nyeh nyeh nyeh nyeh nyeh nyeh nyeh...
(Crosses arms in bad temper) Rub it in, Biscuit, you smug little so-and-so. Rub it in.

I can add body damage to your car, if you want.

3683215 The deer beat you to it a few weeks ago.

I misunderstood you; i thought you were saying your cars had NO damage.

I blame just-woke-up syndrome.

That's what got two of mine as well: the van and the Impala.

looking forward to on to the pony planet
