The Bridge: Bagan and Enjin Sound Test · 3:01am Feb 5th, 2016
Weirdest part in designing a kaiju that got never left the Toho script vault? Figuring out what it's supposed to sound like. With Bagan I got a bare bones detail from the SNES game, though I felt that case was very limited and it was pretty clear they just recycled a Godzilla bellow and played with the pitch. Not harm in doing so, but I figured that should Bagan or any of the Aspects show up in a video, I might want something different and I knew I'd probably have to be the one to reforge and play around with a bunch of sounds to get what I thought fit. Add to that Bridge being a big adaption expansion pack with all the new continuity, ties, and traits for characters and some new options were brought in.
After playing around with the pitch, speed, amplification, mixing, rendering, re-rendering, reversing, Gverb adjustment, and the like; I got these two and figured "Oh what the hay?" and thought I'd give you guys a look er... listen.
I warn you, depending on your volume set up the following might be a tad loud so I'd turn it down as a precaution just in case.
1. Sound 1 - Bagan's mental scream attack
-Refitted Primal Carnage Alpha version Tyrannosaurus rex roar added with a bison bellow and human screaming.
-Adjusted pitch, speed, reversed, Gverb adjustment, reversed again and Gverb'd again, and echoed
2. Sound 2 - Enjin's kaiju form's whoop/roar
-Took a zoo gorilla whoop and added a stock monster roar and Yautja bellow
-Adjusted pitch, mixed and rendered the sounds together, altered volume, echoed, Gverb adjustment 3 times, and pitch change
That… was… awesome![:pinkiegasp:](https://static.fimfiction.net/images/emoticons/pinkiegasp.png)
I like it sounds animalistic but more at the same time
God that was terrifying! Nice!
Now thats a monster.
Very nice.
Oooh, very frightful. And also pretty powerful. More than fitting for someone like Bagan, if i do say so myself.:D
Hope that first one doesn't bring about copyright issues...
These sound really unearthly. And that's perfect since Bagan is Kaijuthulhu. ^_^
... that was.... AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Badass.
That sound........that ghastly and horrifying sound......it's as though the very pillars of the heavens themselves are being torn asunder by the ravings and wrath of nothing less than a mad God.....
And the second......it's as though as I'm hearing the very sounds of demons and hell itself, and it's very echo is threatening to tear my soul into nothingness......
Holy Shit its Creepy + Badass for Bagan
Actually going to say . . , work more on Bagan as it doesn't seem close to working yet. Eijin on the other hand . . . sounds too "empty". It's weird because we know he's basically a shadow, but the sound gives me the feeling of nothing literally being there to make the sound. So, try to make it sound more "solid" or something?
I dunno- neither sounded really complete to me. Bagan too mumbled and Eijin just . . . . felt off . . .
Bagan needs a little deeper of tone like some aquatic beast , but Eijin sounds perfect to me for the flat emptyness from the void of all souls
interesting, I can see Enjin screeching that (Sound 1), but when will sound 2 be ready?
Actually, Bagan supposedly did get on screen time in Final Wars, but it was deleted for unknown reasons

Well, if you could give any suggestion as to what I should do otherwise? Possibly any root sounds you'd like fit better? I chose the two I did because with Bagan, it was supposed to be as much a shriek as it was a roar, and with Enjin I was trying to keep it distinctly primate.
Enjin sounds the way it does because for lack of better terms, the one in the story right now isn't real. The real Enjin is still a physical component of Bagan itself, the one active and running around right now is more or less a "physical ghost". That's why I intentionally tried to make it sound unsolid.
I listened to it a few times, and I think you're good. I'd roll with it. I liked the Engine whoop more than the other, but I think they both work.
I'm green-lighting this project.
You never fail to impress me Tarb. Your story is awesome.![:pinkiehappy:](https://static.fimfiction.net/images/emoticons/pinkiehappy.png)

Bagan's roar sounds very...I'unno, digital-ish. like a deeper version of what my mind cooks up for Scylla. Engin's 'empty'-sounding whoop/roar, however, sounds perfect.
For Bagan, why not try something that shifts between deep and rumbling and high and piercing?
Bagan has lots of roar, but the screech part of it seems to just be there. If it was louder, it would probably synch up a bit better. As it is, it sounds more like a scream of pain than anything else.
Well Tarb for the most part i like Bagan's roar as is but i do fell like its missing something, hmm maybe if you added in a bit of Jurassic Park T-rex to the mix? Aside from that, this defiantly sounds like the roar of something I wouldn't even want to be on the same planet with actually scratch that I wouldn't want to be in the same universe as the thing that makes that roar, plus it would probably make me do this.
Kaiju soundgasm at it's best.
I like enjin roar it sound like a kaiju some Ultraman, but Bagan need some work. Being a bull like creature his roar should have a bellow sound to his roar like the video game. Like get something like a heavy horn like a sousaphone and either slow it down or electrify it. Used instrument like the toho used to create godzilla roar. That should help a little bit.
To be fair dude I think it could use a little more work it really sound annoying like someone was scratching on a chock bored and then did a very hight pitch version of it
